✨🎄Christmas Chocolate Appeal 2025 🍫✨

As the festive season approaches, we’re once again launching our Christmas Chocolate Appeal, something that’s become very close to our hearts.

Each year, we collect chocolate treats to be delivered to local charities, children’s services and those who may find Christmas a little tougher than most. A simple chocolate bar can bring a moment of joy, a smile, and a reminder that someone cares.

If you’d like to support this year’s appeal, we warmly welcome donations of:

🍫 Individual bars
🍫 Any festive sweet treats

Our Mercedes fleet stood with quiet dignity outside St Matthew’s Church, Derrington this week.
A peaceful setting, a beautiful church, and the privilege of supporting a family as they gathered to honour a much-loved life.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do, to be there with care, gentleness and dignity when families need it most. It’s always an honour to walk alongside our community, offering support in whatever way we can.

His Majesty’s Coroner’s Office in Staffordshire is appealing for help to trace the family of a man who has died.

Kenneth Raymond Metcalf, 80, sadly died at his home on The Drive in Stafford.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

HM Coroner for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire needs to trace his next of kin.

Any family members or friends of Kenneth, or persons who can provide information as to possible relatives, are asked to contact Stoke-on-Trent Coroner’s Office via email using staffordshireandstokecoroners@stoke.gov.uk.

Here at Love’s Independent Funeral Directors we have seen an increase in marketing activity from some national direct cremation providers.
Many people aren’t even aware that their local independent funeral director offers the same direct cremation services, let me assure you that this is something we have always offered.

What makes us different?

• Our team of qualified staff all live and work in our local community.
• Our team are here to guide and support you and your loved ones.
• Your loved one will be transferred into our care at Primrose Cottage at the earliest opportunity, and they will remain with us until the cremation takes place.
• Our non-attended cremations are carried out here in Stafford within days of the paperwork being completed and the ashes returned in the following days.

How much does it cost?

A local dignified direct cremation arranged by our team here at L❤️VE’S costs only £1575.
If you’d like to plan for the future, we can also arrange a direct cremation Golden Charter funeral plan which would cost £1900.
