👁 Let's talk Keratoconus 👁
A condition that 'shapes' how you see the world - literally.

Keratoconus causes the normally round cornea to thin and bulge into a cone shape, leading to:
▫ Blurred/ distorted vision
▫ Increased sensitivity to light
▫ Frequent prescription changes
▫ Difficulty with night driving

It's often first noticed in the teens/early 20s and can progress over time.
🤓Glasses may help early on, but many people benefit from specialist contact lenses like RGPs or mini-sclerals for clearer, more stable vision.
With regular monitoring and the right care, vision can be preserved and treatment like corneal cross-linking may help slow progression.

Good lens hygiene is key to keeping your eyes healthy and preventing serious infections.

Here are a few golden rules:
🧼 Wash and dry your hands before handling lenses
🕒 Stick to your replacement schedule – no stretching wear time!
🧴 Use fresh solution every time (no topping up!)
🛏️ Never sleep in lenses unless advised by your optometrist
💧 Don’t rinse lenses with tap water – ever!
