🎄✨ It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Limewood! ✨🎄

We’ve been sprinkling plenty of festive cheer around the home this week - decorating our lounges, trimming the Christmas trees and creating a cosy, joyful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

And the celebrations are only just beginning! We’re looking forward to upcoming activity:

🎤 A Christmas sing-along with Damien

A big thank you to the Spar on West Way for the lovely Christmas goodies.

We’ve had another wonderfully busy and joyful week!

Our armchair travel took us all the way to Poland, where we explored beautiful sights before settling into the cinema to watch Narnia, with so many scenes filmed there, it was the perfect choice! 🎬❄️

We also enjoyed another fabulous fitness session with Jack, helping us loosen up, stay active and have plenty of laughs along the way.

Our regular church group joined us to talk about Advent and share some much-loved hymns. It's always such a peaceful and meaningful part of our week.

A special highlight was welcoming Watson, our new therapy dog. His soft fur and gentle eyes won everyone over instantly. 🐾💙

And of course, we rounded things off with our favourite activities, karaoke, a lively pub quiz and our weekly bingo session, all bringing smiles, chatter and plenty of fun.

❤️🌺 Recently at Limewood… 🌺❤️

We came together last week to mark Remembrance, beginning with a heartfelt two-minute silence, followed by an afternoon of beautiful music from the wonderful Katie Lou, whose sing-along session brought comfort and connection to everyone.

As part of our tribute, we also purchased a female figure from the Royal British Legion to stand proudly alongside our soldier silhouette at the entrance - creating a meaningful and respectful display while supporting an important cause.

Throughout the week, residents also enjoyed a range of activities including:
🖍️ Remembrance-themed colouring
💅 Pamper sessions
❓ A fun pub quiz
🎉 And of course, our much-loved prize bingo!

It was a thoughtful and heart-warming week, filled with reflection, community, and togetherness. ❤️

🌟 Recently at Limewood… Welcoming New Friendly Faces! 🌟

This week has been full of excitement as we welcomed two wonderful new regular visitors to Limewood.

First, we were delighted to have Jack from Fitniss back with us! Jack will now be joining us fortnightly for fun, gentle exercise sessions that keep everyone moving, smiling and feeling great.

We also welcomed Dan from Cordelle Barbers and what a treat it was for our gents. They enjoyed a relaxing hot cloth shave, a fresh haircut and plenty of good-natured banter.

And with lots of birthdays this month (and more still to come!), it’s been a wonderful time of celebration here at Limewood. 🎉

🎃👻 A Spooktacular Week at Limewood! 👻🎃

It’s been a frightfully fun week here at Limewood as we celebrated Halloween in style!

We started the week with a Halloween cinema special, watching E.T. and Hocus Pocus with plenty of snacks and refreshments. Residents then got creative, carving and hand-painting pumpkins (and making a little bit of a mess along the way!) before enjoying a fun-filled karaoke session with all our favourite songs. 🎶🧡

Our arts and crafts sessions saw some spooky masterpieces come to life, from doily ghosts to beautiful Halloween pictures, all enjoyed with mugs of hot chocolate topped with cream and sprinkles. 🍫☕

To round off the week, we played Halloween bingo with some ghoulishly good prizes!

We’d like to say a big thank you to:

🧺 The team at The Co-op on Stone Road for their two fantastic Halloween hampers - one shared with residents and one raffled, raising an amazing £51.50 for our residents’ fund!
🍬 The staff at Spar Westway for their wonderful “trick or treat” package filled with pumpkins, sweets, biscuits and chocolates.

🎬🎤 A Fun-Filled Week at Limewood! 🎤🎬

It’s been a wonderfully busy week here at Limewood, packed with activities that everyone has loved taking part in!

We kicked things off with Movie Monday, enjoying Night at the Museum and Gone With the Wind on the big screen 🍿. We also had a brilliant karaoke afternoon, singing along to favourite songs and enjoying lots of laughter! 🎶💛

Our Fitness session got us all moving, stretching hands, legs, arms and feet, followed by our popular weekly pub quiz in the afternoon with a well-deserved glass of wine or beer. 🍷🍺

We welcomed our lovely visitors from the church for a heart-warming service, which is always a pleasure. 🙏✨

Then, we had the most joyful celebration for a very special lady’s birthday, complete with a beautiful cake, cupcakes, marshmallows, sweet treats and plenty of gin, pink lemonade, wine and beer! 🎉💐 Robert joined us with his accordion and filled the room with music and singing, making the afternoon even more magical. 🎵

We rounded off the week with prize bingo, which brought out lots of excitement and big smiles! 😄

Oktoberfest Fun at Limewood!

What an incredible day we had at Limewood! We began with an armchair travel to Germany, exploring its stunning sights and regions, learning a few German phrases and reminiscing about holidays and memories spent there. 🌍✨

In the afternoon, we kept the theme going with our annual Oktoberfest celebration and what a celebration it was! 🍺 The beer jugs were flowing, we raised our glasses with a cheerful “Prost!” and enjoyed a delicious spread of frankfurters, sauerkraut, pretzels and sweet treats.

A big thank you to the wonderful Robert Burton, who joined us once again with his accordion and filled the home with music, laughter and dancing. 🎶💛

Oktoberfest is always one of our favourite events of the year, it lifts everyone’s spirits and leaves us with smiles that last for days! 🌻

🍁 A Creative and Musical Week at Limewood 🍁

It’s been another wonderful and busy week here at Limewood! Residents have been getting creative with autumn crafts, using rich seasonal colours and textures to make beautiful displays. From a stunning autumn tree and hand-coloured pictures to wreaths now proudly hanging in our High Street, the home is looking wonderfully warm and seasonal. 🍂✨

Our armchair travel this week took us to Germany! We explored beautiful cities, churches and castles while enjoying some delicious refreshments, hot chocolate, crisps and pretzels, of course! 🥨☕

We also welcomed the lovely Anna from Musical Moments for a joyful afternoon of song, music, and fun. From “Getting to Know You” to “Thank You for the Music,” everyone joined in with singing, props and smiles all around. 🎶💛

💙✨ What an Amazing Day at Limewood! ✨💙

On Thursday 25th September, we came together for a truly special fundraising day and what a success it was! 🎉

The day was packed with fun: a tombola, raffle, craft stall, handmade bead pens lovingly created by the residents, a sweet stall and a coffee & cake sale. The residents were so proud to contribute their creations, knowing they were helping such a wonderful cause. 💕

A huge thank you goes to:

🙌 Sam Baddeley for your incredible £100 donation and for cutting Claire’s ponytail.
🙌 Deb Rutter for doing the big shave.
🙌 Our amazing volunteers - Sandra, Megan and Zara - for your time and support.
🙌 And of course, to all friends, families and staff who joined us on the day to cheer Claire on.

👏 Most of all, a massive well done to Claire - we are so proud of your bravery and determination! Claire has also donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust. 💇‍♀️💝
