Heart Awareness UK
Heart Month in the UK is a significant campaign aimed at raising
awarenesss of heart and circulatory diseases. It is primarily led by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles, encouraging physical activity, and raising funds for research.
Dr Lo is a general and interventional cardiologist. He undertook his specialist cardiology training in the West Midlands Deanery and subspecialty interventional training at University Hospital of North Staffordshire and University Hospital Birmingham, with particular interest in transradial approach (from the wrist) coronary intervention.
He was awarded the Medtronic Transradial Interventional fellowship at University Hospital of Caen, France, where he undertook high volume complex transradial coronary intervention for a year.
His specialist interests include ischaemic heart disease, lipid disorder, atrial fibrillation, hypertension and heart failure.
Dr Lo's specialist interests include: ischaemic heart disease, lipid disorder, atrial fibrillation, hypertension and heart failure.

This Heart Month, our hospitals are proving that excellence goes far beyond mandatory resus training. We’re investing in stronger teams, deeper department relationships, and the skills that truly save lives. Our focus has been on understanding human factors during cardiac arrest, practising clear closed loop communication, empowering coordinators, and highlighting the vital — yet often overlooked — role of the scribe.
This is what true commitment to outstanding patient care looks like.
It’s choosing to learn more, work better together, and build the confidence needed when every second matters.
