Today we received a beautiful gift from a mum who was previously a patient here at Brockington. It included a fabulous tree for the office, crafts for our mum's and a lovely book and cuddly toy for the babies! 🥰 What a thoughtful and kind gift, thank you so much ❤️🎄✨

She spent time meeting the team and hearing firsthand about the vital work being done to support families’ mental health and wellbeing during early parenthood 💜

Over the weekend we completed a 24 hour run in aid of the parent and baby unit at St George’s Hospital.

We managed to raise well over £2000 and could not be prouder of our team.

The community we have really is out of this world.

We are very honoured that Ambition Private Fitness Studio have chosen our ward to raise money for ❤️ please show them some support on their 24 hour charity run on Friday 27th June at midnight.

👉 AMBITION 24 HOUR CHARITY RUN 👈

We’re lacing up and hitting the ground running — non-stop for 24 hours — to raise money for an incredibly important cause: The Parent and Baby Unit at St George’s Hospital, Stafford.

This specialist eight-bed unit supports mothers and their babies (up to 12 months old) who are struggling with serious mental health challenges related to pregnancy, childbirth, and early motherhood. It’s also able to care for pregnant women from 32 weeks onwards.

💛 Why it matters:

• Up to 80% of women experience the “baby blues” shortly after birth.

• Around 10–15% develop postnatal depression, with symptoms like sadness, fatigue, poor sleep, and feelings of guilt.

• A small but significant number of women (1-2 in every 1000) experience postnatal psychosis, a severe and urgent condition.

While many can be supported at home, some need specialist, inpatient care — and that’s where the Parent and Baby Unit steps in, offering a calm, homely, and healing environment for both mums and babies.
