APPI Certified Matwork Pilates Instructor Pilates has been a significant part of my life since childhood.

Hi, I’m Rachel, a chiropractor and health and fitness professional from Teesside with a passion for helping individuals achieve their health, wellness, and performance goals. Inspired by my lifelong love of sports such as horse riding, netball, and hockey, I began my journey in this field by earning a degree in Sports Therapy in 2013. My career began at Stockton Chiropractic Clinic in 2014, where I discovered my dedication to supporting recovery and optimising performance through personalised care. I also launched Rachel Chapman Sports Therapy and Pilates, combining therapeutic treatments with Pilates instruction to deliver a holistic approach to well-being. Over the years, I’ve worked with rugby teams, which provided exciting opportunities to travel to destinations like Australia and Dubai. These experiences along with working in clinic deepened my appreciation for integrated care and inspired me to pursue a degree in Chiropractic. I graduated from Teesside University in 2024 as part of its inaugural cohort, and I now merge my knowledge in sports therapy and chiropractic care to create comprehensive treatment plans that empower patients to recover and thrive. I’m committed to lifelong learning and have attended numerous courses to expand my skill set, including myofascial release techniques, manual lymphatic drainage therapy, nutrition, and advanced soft tissue techniques. I became certified in matwork Pilates through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in 2014 and specialise in areas such as Pilates for menopause, pre- and post-natal Pilates, and HIIT Pilates. I recently completed reformer Pilates training, further expanding my offerings. While teaching Sports Therapy at Middlesbrough College, I enhanced my expertise by earning qualifications in personal training, fitness instruction, kettlebells, and circuit training. These skills allow me to create tailored programs to improve strength, flexibility, and overall well-being for my clients. Now, having gained more skills and knowledge, I felt it was time to rebrand and launch as Move Health and Chiropractic, a name that reflects all aspects of what we do. I love the new name and feel excited about the plans we have for the future. When I’m not teaching or in the clinic, I enjoy staying active through weight training, cardio, and outdoor adventures with my two dogs. After months of planning, designing, and plenty of hard work behind the scenes, our new clinic space is officially open! 🏡💫

We’ve created a space that truly reflects what we love to do — helping our patient move, recover, and feel their best. Our new home now includes:

🧘🏼‍♀️ A reformer & rehabilitation room designed to support every stage of your recovery

Our Story

Rachel is a Sports Therapist based within and around the Teesside area. Rachel works at Stockton Chiropractic Clinic, Darlington Mowden Park RFU, and from her own clinic at Thornton Grange providing injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. Whether office worker, occasional gym goer, recreational or professional athlete anyone with reduced physical performance due to pain, muscle or joint injury or dysfunction can benefit from a variety of treatments available. Treatments and rehabilitation programmes are tailored to the individuals needs and can consist of: Sports and Remedial massage, Peripheral joint and Spinal Mobilisations, Muscle Activation techniques, Stretching, Taping techniques and, Core Stability, strength, power and endurance exercises and 1:1 matwork pilates sessions. She is also a certified APPI matwork Pilates instructor and runs group classes on Tuesday evening at Seamer Village Hall Individual, and small group Pilates sessions can also be arranged. Member of the Sports Therapy Organisation

Due to my love for fitness and healthy lifestyle I have now qualified as a fitness instructor, currently completing L3 Personal Training. I have also qualified in circuit training, kettlebells and suspension training, which I include in rehabilitation and prehabilitation programmes.
