SAFE SPACE HAS FUNDING TO ADVOCATE FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT:
* Many people in Tameside feel that we are losing our values of cooperation, participation, honesty, neighbourliness, respect, love etc.
* The community sees a rise in crime, violence, separation, hate, disrespect, hooliganism, bullying creeping into Tameside.
* Many crimes have a direct influence on peoples Wellbeing & Mental Health
* Safe Space wellbeing Lab addresses Mental Health and we want to hear YOUR VOICE. (Maybe there is no hate in Stalybridge)
* The small grant will help us to understand our community better and address community needs better in 2026.
* All Head Teachers in Stalybridge & Duckenfield as well as representatives from all Sorts Clubs, Charities, Faith Communities, and political parties will be invited to a FIVE CIRCLE MEETING, facilitated by Dr Rod Waddington who worked with the IEC (International Electoral Commission) in South Africa in 1994 to ensure a smooth transfer from Apartheid into a Democratic Country.
* In the light of World Conflict, Divisional Politics, and a loss of human values and dignity this may be the most important meeting in 2026.
* Help us to ensure that the right people are there for the 4hr meeting.
* The outcome of the meeting will advocate that Stalybridge is too Great To Hate at a display in TESCO's in February.

About time. Well done.

🚫 Denmark just banned social media for kids under 15!

Necessary or government overreach?

Denmark has taken a bold step in child protection by passing a new law that bans children aged 15 and under from using social media.

The legislation is designed to shield young users from the growing mental health risks associated with online platforms, including anxiety, depression, and addictive behaviors.

Lawmakers argue that early exposure to social media can disrupt healthy development, and that stricter controls are needed to foster safer, more grounded childhoods in an increasingly digital world.

While many support the move as a necessary intervention to curb the negative effects of screen time and online pressure, critics raise concerns about censorship and personal freedoms. Opponents argue that digital literacy should be taught, not restricted, and that the law could set a precedent for broader limitations on internet access. Still, Denmark’s decision is already drawing international attention, and it may prompt other governments to reevaluate how they regulate children's engagement with social media.
