Introducing the Medstor sepsis cart, now with RFID technology.

The Sepsis Six is a set of six actions developed by The UK Sepsis Trust to be actioned immediately when sepsis is suspected:

1. Give the patient oxygen
2. Give intravenous antibiotics
3. Take blood cultures to identify the source of the underlying infection
4. Give intravenous fluids
5. Check lactate levels
6. Monitor urine output

The Medstor sepsis cart was developed to make it easier for healthcare professionals to deliver the Sepsis Six by uniting everything needed onto one cart, with clearly labelled drawers.

Our design team has now taken that one step further with the addition of RFID technology, ensuring sepsis carts are always fully equipped and ready for use.

We have supplied the nhs.uk with specialist healthcare storage solutions for nearly 40 years. Over those years, we’ve seen and responded to many changes, and it’s always very rewarding to be part of the NHS’s progress and growth. The Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment recognises and rewards many of the things we already do on a daily basis to promote sustainability, and we look forward to making even greater strides as we too work towards net zero.

🍃 The Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment

We understand that caring for the environment needs to be an integral part of the way we, and every other UK company, do business, and we are always exploring and implementing new ways to reduce our environmental impact. As part of this, we have signed up to the Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment.

The Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment is an online tool developed by NHS England to engage NHS suppliers in aligning with NHS net zero and sustainability goals. It enables them to share their sustainability practices, receive a ‘maturity’ score against NHS priorities showing the level they’re currently at, and identify areas for improvement.

The assessment encourages signatories to:
• Establish clear sustainability goals
• Implement a robust tracking system
• Engage in open dialogue around sustainability
• Adopt the most environmentally responsible practices
• Ensure ethical supply chains

We are really looking forward to working through the Evergreen Assessment levels. We know all SPL companies and staff are 100% behind our group sustainability goals, and this pathway for progress is an exciting way to both recognise our achievements and drive us forward.

♻ Net Zero targets
The NHS’s target is to achieve net zero by 2040 for its directly controlled emissions (the NHS Carbon Footprint) and by 2045 for the emissions it influences (like those from its supply chain). The UK's net zero target as a whole is to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

The Medstor mobile nurse station is a cost-effective, multifunctional, flexible way to improve clinical work and workflow efficiencies. It integrates a medical cart with a computing system, creating a compact, wheeled treatment hub.

The nurse station is designed to be easily moved and positioned wherever needed, turning dead space into patient care space. This makes it perfect for use in busy hospital areas where there may not be enough room for a permanent desk, or that have been brought into service to deal with temporarily increased patient numbers or emergency situations and need to be fitted out quickly.

At Medstor, our healthcare storage doesn’t only work brilliantly, it looks good too. Choose from a wide selection of colours, construction materials, configurations and personalisation options. For more information, please message us below.

July has been non-stop in the Medstor offices, with so much going on that we’re all even busier than usual!

As well as designing, fulfilling and delivering innovative and effective materials management orders for our healthcare clients across the UK and beyond, we have also been working on two corporate projects that will further improve the service we offer.

The first is the updating of our BIM files to include new models from our wide range of HTM 71 and HTM 63 products. This will make it easier for architects or anyone else using BIM modelling to incorporate our solutions into their designs.

The other big story is the relaunch of the Medstor website, which has been totally revamped to include all our latest products and news – we can’t wait to show it off when it’s finished, so please watch out for more details.

We’ve already had lots of interest in our healthcare storage portfolio, particularly our unique tray-and-liner system, and the indispensable mobile storage cabinet.

Together, we can reduce waste, streamline processes, improve safety, and free-up time to care. What’s more, our stylish, colourful products enhance both the workplace and the healing environment.

International Nurses’ Week 2025 recognises the skill, dedication and impact of nurses working in hospitals, the community, prisons, clinics and many other healthcare environments throughout the world.

It culminates in a special day of celebration on Monday 12th May, Florence Nightingale’s birthday.

At Medstor, we would like to thank the entire nursing profession for everything its members do to keep us happy and healthy, often working in very challenging circumstances.

We help by providing materials management solutions designed to make their lives easier by streamlining storage and releasing time for them to focus on their key priority – patient care.

We celebrate nurses not just this week but every day of the year – thank you from everyone at Medstor.

All dirty hospital linen must be handled with care and attention paid to the potential spread of infection – used bedding, curtains, hoist slings, gowns, etc, need to be taken from the ward to the laundry or collection point as quickly as possible, without disrupting patient care.

Medstor linen bag holders are the perfect solution to the management of soiled linens. These mobile bag carts are designed specifically for the separation and transportation of dirty laundry. Their use minimises the risk of cross contamination and supports robust infection prevention procedures.

Linen collection bags fit easily into the frame of the cart and are held firmly in place by a secure seal. The lightweight frame, which is constructed from fully welded steel, is simple to manoeuvre and has four strong swivel-and-brake castors.

Available in two size options (single bag or double bag, as shown below), the linen bag holders are available with different colour soft-closing lids, enabling colour coding for improved hygiene and easy sorting – choose from white, blue, brown, yellow, red and green.
