Jess & I visited Dumble Farm Highland Cows this week to cuddle some cows! What a humbling experience to lie/cuddle these gentle animals in whose presence I felt absolutely tiny!!!! As joyful as this was, my main takeaway of optimism was the conservation work that the team of 3 farmers are doing there. Having just watched "Kiss the Ground" documentary(highly recommended) which is all about how a group of farmers are leading the way for our urgent need to return to biodiversity, the cows are an essential aspect to us restoring the soil. Their methods also have a very positive impact on carbon and climate so I applaud that these guys are already doing this which is evident in their land (& variety of wildlife) as you tour around. So heartening to see their respect for the land & their animals, their passion in what they do, their intention to help bring back a struggling species (the lapwing) plus a vision for other projects going forward.

I was invited to my first Gong Bath 5 years ago. My life had taken a few knocks & at that stage I was emotionally wrung out. I ventured out having no idea what a gong was (let alone a bath in one!) but came out knowing that I had experienced something deeply relaxing & transformative.
This propelled me into training with some inspiring teachers including Don Conreaux, Aidan Mcintyre & Mark Swan. Don has been a significant key player in revitalising this ancient practice around the world.
Sound healing is the way forward! It's deeply relaxing, restorative & healing.
I am now offering one-on-one treatments (basically means you lie down & relax & allow the sounds to wash over & through you!). During the 45 minute session the water in your blood responds to the vibration of the gongs giving your cells more energy. Additionally the sounds help to synchronise your brain waves (helping to switch off the busy chattering in your mind ), giving you an emotional uplift as well as resultant boost in mental clarity.
So it's both transformative & healing & all you have to do is lie back & relax!

"Balance" - sometimes seen as an elusive quality to our lives as we spin around in ever decreasing circles trying to "survive" and to "make ends meet". Most of my posts are around physical & mental wellbeing, but true balance comes from that part of ourselves that is our essence, that part that cannot be seen or defined but that we know if we take a moment to stop, breathe and "tune in" we can find our answers to peace and remind ourselves of our own wisdom. Today is the Summer Solstice and it's a time used in old traditions for many reasons but it is also a perfect time to take a moment for yourself, to reflect on what has been, let go of what you realise is no longer serving you, as well as asking for something you would like to bring in to your life. You can do this by journalling, meditating or even expressing it through art, a walk in nature, writing it on a piece of paper and giving it back to source (maybe in a fire for example) or whatever works for you. Last night I was part of a beautiful fire ceremony in the woods where we did just that! πŸ’₯πŸ§™πŸ»πŸŒŸπŸ’πŸ™. Our combined energies drew in others who came to join us to drum, sing (or wail out of tune in my case πŸ˜†πŸ€£!!) & to connect under the moon & in nature. Sounds whacky to many I know but honestly - it’s very liberating to let go & just be as we are meant to be connecting with like minded souls. Thank you Peace Heal Love and Charlotte O'Byrne for creating this wonderful space πŸ™πŸ’₯ which are held at the Full Moon every month so why not try it out? Have some fun. Let yourself go! You have nothing to lose & much to gain 😍

I am so looking forward to joining this session later with Gary Music Alchemy. What Gary offers is unique and much needed during these times where many of us are feeling a little "lost". Stress is now well known to have a negative impact on our microbiome (hugely important for our immune function so it is important to support the beneficial bacteria in the gut). You can start by eating more fermented foods - kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut etc. Start gradually to allow your body to adjust.
