This weekend we celebrated Valentine’s Day in the most wonderful way — with cakes and bubbles, laughter, and so much love in the air 💕

We kicked off the morning with a fun game of Valentine’s bingo with the lovely Anne-Marie — and congratulations to Cathy for winning! Before the celebrations even began, our residents worked incredibly hard crafting all of the beautiful decorations and even created a gorgeous pom-pom heart, which made everything feel extra special.

A huge thank you to Lidl Stamford for kindly donating the stunning red roses that were handed out to every resident — bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. We were also treated to a fantastic afternoon of entertainment from Anne and her friends, who had everyone laughing and singing along.

The day ended perfectly with a lovely Valentine’s afternoon tea party, followed by a special couples’ tea in the pub. All in all, it was a heart-warming day full of joy, togetherness, and lots of spoiling — just the way Valentine’s should be

We had a fun morning baking Chalka bread, a braided egg bread - (Polish), it’s a sweeter bread, sometimes contains raisins, and often features a streusel crumble topping! Everyone enjoyed some with a cuppa and some jam!

For Nutella day we were planning to make Nutella and banana cups but Terry ate the bananas! (See story) We went for plan b and made Rice Krispies and Nutella cakes instead! Margaret said she thoroughly enjoyed it!

It was a messy affair but everyone loved it!

Our coffee afternoon this month was a big success! 💕
With a love and kindness theme, everyone wrote a love letter to their future self — now hidden away to return when those kind words are needed most — all while enjoying lovely cakes and a cuppa of choice!

We had loads of fun being active in January but we also enjoyed some wellness activities!
First we had a look at natural ingredients and its benefits for home made facials! SANTHOSH kindly agreed to be our model! He thoroughly enjoyed the experience and he was truly glowing after that facial ☺️ we enjoyed a sensory session smelling, feeling and reminiscing over the scents of the ingredients too!

And for our inner wellness we had a lovely smoothie day! We experimented with different flavours and ingredients! Now we all set to take on the rest of the year!

We wrapped up our winter sports season with one last ski—and then took it straight into après ski party at the Tally Ski Lodge & Resort. The Slippery Slope Social Club came together for what can only be described as an over-75s rave.

Entry was strictly controlled. Security guard and bouncer Rafi was on duty, checking IDs at the door. Everyone arrived with their own ID entry card—also known as their official license to party. The age requirement? 75+ only. No exceptions.

Once cleared, partygoers were issued a wristband and ski goggles before hitting the lodge, where DJ Snowstorm took over the decks, keeping the dance floor moving and the residents entertained all afternoon. Add uplifting tunes, avalanche cupcakes, ice-rinked donuts, and snowflake Don Pedros and cocktails—and you’ve got a season finale for the books.

The vibes were high, the moves were bold, and the party proved once and for all: the slopes may close, but the dancing never does. Here are a few photos from our end-of-season celebration.
