🌞 Tallington Lodge on Tour – Day 2 in Blackpool! 🌊

What a fantastic day we've had! We started with a lovely walk down to the North Pier, taking in the fresh sea air and those classic Blackpool views. 🏖️

Next, we enjoyed a little retail therapy at the shopping centre! 🛍️

We finished our day in true style with afternoon tea at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. ☕🍰 The sandwiches and cakes were absolutely delicious, and watching the elegant ballroom dancing was simply spectacular. 💃🕺

We’ve well and truly had an amazing time today – Blackpool, you’ve been wonderful! ❤️

Rememberance day 🌹

We honoured rememberance day and celebrated all the heroes who died for our country by making our own lovely poppies and we went around local villages to see all the beautiful poppy displays! We especially enjoyed stopping over at the crowland abbey where we learnt a lot about the history of the remaining building!

We’ve had an amazing time exploring, laughing, and making memories together. Everyone’s feeling a little tired after such a fun-filled day, so it’s off to bed to rest up for another busy day tomorrow! 💤✨

🌟 Exciting News from Tallington Lodge! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share that our residents are heading off on our very first care home holiday — to beautiful Blackpool! 🏖️🎢

The suitcases are packed, spirits are high, and we can’t wait to enjoy some sea air, seaside treats, and plenty of laughter together. From the famous Blackpool Tower to the sparkling lights on the promenade, it’s sure to be a trip full of fun and wonderful memories. 💫

A big thank you to our amazing team for making this possible — and to our residents for their enthusiasm and smiles! ❤️

Introducing our scarecrow….

🎃 Meet Billy Haystacks! 🌾

Our Well-being Team and residents have been busy creating our very own scarecrow for Halloween — and now he finally has a name! 👏

Everyone wrote down their ideas, we popped them into a basket, and the winning name drawn was… Billy Haystacks! 🧡

He’s been our little Halloween mascot this month and now proudly wears his name badge as Scarecrow of the Home.

We are all looking forward to some fun Halloween trick or treating tomorrow 🌽🕸️

MacMillan coffee afternoon 💚

☕🎂 A Huge Thank-You for Joining Our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon! 🎉

What a lovely afternoon we had — tea, cake, a quiz, and lots of laughs, all in support of cancer research. 💚

Now, about that “find the coffee bean” puzzle… we still couldn’t spot it! 🤔 So Doreen, being the genius she is, stuck a real coffee bean on the sheet — and voilà, mystery solved! 😂

Thank you to everyone who came along, donated, and made it such a fun afternoon. 💕

🎃🍺 OktoboOfest 🥨

What a weekend! Our Oktoberfest Halloween Mashup was full of laughs, great vibes, and plenty of pretzels, beer, and spooky cheer. Big thanks to our kitchen crew for the amazing spread and to Santosh for those killer cocktails! 🍹
🍻Also a big thank you to The Exeter Arms Uppingham for lending us the beer barrels for part of our props! We very much appreciate it!

Our care staff absolutely stole the show with the 10-minute dress-up challenge —
🥈 2nd place: Scarecrow Jackie 🌾
🥇 1st place: Sayanth as Ghostface from Scream — complete with the perfect “Whaaaat’s uuup!” 👻

The Wellbeing Team got everyone up dancing to the Monster Mash, and the afternoon was packed with fun, laughter, and some classic German tunes and a little spooky spirit. 🕺💃

Thanks to everyone who joined in and helped make the day such a blast! 🎉

Over the past month, we’ve been super busy getting everything ready for our big OtoBoOfestival tomorrow, October 25th, from 2–4 PM! 🎃🍺

The ladies and gents have all worked really hard, and we can’t wait for you to come and see what we’ve been up to. Grab a pretzel and a beer on us, enjoy some entertainment, and don’t forget — there are prizes for the best dressed! 🏆

It’s a German–Halloween mashup, so feel free to get creative with your costume! Whether you come as a spooky ghoul 👻, a beer maiden 🍻, someone rocking lederhosen 🥨, or anything in between — we’d love to see it!
