Mountfitchet House is a purpose-built care home set within the Essex countryside. The skilled and dedicated team delivers residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care and sensitive end of life care. Located in a small village near Stansted, the home has great links to major motorways and a regular train service to London and Cambridge. The home is divided into four suites that create a 'home within a home' and has excellent facilities, such as a cinema room, pub, hair salon and café. The team strives to ensure residents continue to lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives by getting to know each resident as an individual, so every aspect of their care can be tailored to their unique needs and tastes.

We recently took part in the Step into Christmas campaign, where we worked on bringing back festive traditions that once bought families and communities together ✨ We set out a task for local schools to take part in our Christmas card competition, in which the residents would vote for. Schools that took part were Elsenham Primary, Forest Hall School, Magna Carta Primary Academy and Rainbows Preschool (no photo consent for all)! The children produced some beautiful cards, leaving a very tough decision for our voting panel... with the overall winner being Luella - from Elsenham Primary School. A huge well done to Luella and all the other children who participated 🎄🥰

Day 23 🎁

- The elves have been busy going around resident's rooms singing Christmas carols and songs 🎄 Everyone has absolutely loved this, ensuring everyone is able to join in the festive cheer!

- This afternoon, we watched two very talented girls, perform beautiful dances for us 💃🏼 The girls are part of Courtney May Studios, which is a fantastic up and coming performance arts group. Thank you girls, you were excellent! 🤸🏼‍♀️

- We have also enjoyed Christmas karaoke, which is always fun and games with Alice and Alfie 🤣

Ally Pally Darts Night 2025 🎯

We recently transformed the home into a version of the Alexandra Palace for the evening, whilst partnering up with the incredible Saffron Walden Youth Darts team ✨ We dressed for the occasion, split into team and went head-to-head in a series of dart challenges. We had local DJ Kat Fuller, from TouchPoint radio, who provided excellent walk on songs and bought the festive cheer!

Throughout the evening, residents shared their enthusiasm for the sport, by teaching staff how to play... some staff better than others 🫣 Enid was awarded with a trophy at the end of the night for her fantastic knowledge of the rules!

Tricia, was joined by her Grandson, which was a truly special moment to witness. Tricia enjoyed watching her Grandson make it to the final round, going to head-to-head, with Lifestyle Co-ordinator, Alfie 🤩

We would like to thank absolutely everybody who made this evening the great success it was, especially to the Darts Team and Kat. You were all so kind, caring and passionate, ensuring a smooth evening for all. We look forward to doing this again in the future, as requested by all ❤️

- We received yummy treats and gifts from the nursing team at Peacock Surgery 🥰 The ladies and gents who visit us daily, go above and beyond for us all, offering support, care and compassion. Thank you to you all, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas 🎄

- We drew our raffle this week, with lucky winners taking away some amazing prizes. We would like to thank all the local businesses for donating to our raffle this year. We love your support into the community ❤️

Day 17 & 18 🎁

- Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to Daniel Robinson & Sons who delivered a wonderful bag of goodies to us all yesterday, they're certainly going down a treat 😋 Thank you for all you do for the community, including Mountfitchet House, you are all super!

- Yesterday, we enjoyed an afternoon of Christmas bingo and quizzes, which definitely got us all thinking 🤔

- This morning, we had the excellent Peter Day, who sung a mixture of rock and roll, 50s/60s, Christmas songs and so much more! Peter got everyone dancing, clapping and singing along. We absolutely love these visits. We wish both yourself and Fiona a fabulous Christmas, you deserve it 🌟

- Yesterday, we had a beautiful performance from Bentfield Primary School singing Christmas songs 🎶 The children were so excited to visit us, and all performed superbly!

Day 15 🎁

- Yesterday, we had an amazing Chas and Dave tribute, who bought the heart of London to our doorstep! We had well-known cockney melodies, with a mixture of Christmas and comedy 🎭 The pair bought so much laughter and joy to the afternoon, and a big thank you to Ian for making this happen 😊
