Our dedicated team provides high-quality residential, dementia, nursing and short-term respite care

Mountfitchet House is a purpose-built care home set within the Essex countryside. The skilled and dedicated team delivers residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care and sensitive end of life care. Located in a small village near Stansted, the home has great links to major motorways and a regular train service to London and Cambridge. The home is divided into four suites that create a 'home within a home' and has excellent facilities, such as a cinema room, pub, hair salon and café. The team strives to ensure residents continue to lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives by getting to know each resident as an individual, so every aspect of their care can be tailored to their unique needs and tastes.

As part of our Equality and Diversity programme, we celebrated France this week 🇫🇷 We had a day full of food, learning French and taking a tour around the country in our cinema room 🎦 From pastries, to crepes, cheese boards, pâté and more, we want to say a huge thank you to Nadia, who prepared all of this for us all, by bringing food from her home country. We had a fantastic day, and learnt a lot through watching the virtual tour on the big screen. Bon Appétit! 🤌🏼

Firework Night at Mountfitchet House 🎆

What a spectacular evening we had, lighting up the skies with fireworks, sparklers and glow sticks! Staff and residents all gathered in the garden for a fabulous display of fireworks by Simon, with each and every smile spreading so much joy 🥰 We enjoyed burgers for supper, alongside, hot chocolates with marshmallows 😋 A truly magical evening for all, which we cannot wait to do again!

Black History Month 🖤

We celebrated the end of Black History Month, with a selection of food in the homes pub from around the World, bought in by staff of the home. We had fact sheets on display, to highlight the importance, recognition and achievements of black people, and had a wonderful afternoon 😊

Happy Halloween - Part 1 🎃👻

We held our Halloween party this week, with endless fun, activities and mayhem! We had a jam packed day, including, arts and crafts, pumpkin carving, baking, party games, and a themed lunch, whilst watching a movie 🍿 We had so many wonderful visitors from the local community, and we loved welcoming you all!

The last of Sian's 60th Birthday celebrations with a trip out to Ace of Lanes last night, for a game of bowling and dinner 🎳 Sian put Sarah and Alex to shame, by winning of course! It was a lovely evening, and we are so pleased to have made Sian's 60th one to remember 🥳

A fantastic performance from Colin Wells this week 🎶 Live singers are one of our favourite activities here in the home, as they stimulate our minds and bring back many happy memories from over the years. Thank you as always Colin! 😊

We recently partnered up with Stansted Rainbows group as part of Care UK's Fixer Uppers programme 🌈 This programme encourages intergenerational learning through practical activities, whilst promoting sustainability and preserving traditional repair skills. Throughout the evening, we worked together to paint a rocking horse, make bird feeders and learned how to sew a button 🧵 The ladies felt privileged to be able to hand down these skills to the girls. It was a wonderful evening overall, and the girls were so polite and excited to learn 🌟

HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY SIAN ❤️

We are all wishing Sian the happiest birthday today, as she celebrates, surrounded by family, friends and so much love. Sian, you are one truly special lady and you deserved a day fit for a Queen 👑

This afternoon, we hosted a birthday party for Sian, alongside the help of her sister, Ann. We had party games, including pass the parcel, with presents for all, pin the tail on the donkey, a video montage of birthday wishes from staff and residents, and a wonderful spread of food, from the kitchen team. Of course, we listened to all of Sian's favourite songs, definitely a punk girl back in the day 🤩
