Who doesn't love a juicy hip opener?!?!
β’ I teach two different types of classes during the course of the week, 'All Abilities - (Ayatana & Henham Yoga) & 'Power'. It's during the 'Power' classes that we physically explore a pose a bit deeper, whether it's a balance, upright or arm, a deeper hip opener etc.
β’ That's not to say that we don't 'explore' poses during the 'all abilities' classes, however it is the expectation on both sides to push & allow to body to go that bit further during the Tuesday evening classes π₯
β’ It feels good!!! I so often hear 'I never thought I'd be able to do that!!!'
π¦ This is a 'crawling' version of Utthan Pristhasana - Lizard Pose
β’ The theme is the same regardless of the practice....this week is Patanjali's Yoga Sutra 1.2 - YogaΕ citta vrtti nirodhah - often translated as the 'quieting of the fluctuations of the mind'
- 'Can we give our thoughts & attention a place to land'
- 'Can we let 'nirodhah' happen naturally, when we steady our bodies & soften our breath?'
Our minds don't need to be silenced, just supported. Not forced.....but allowed π€
I'm teaching an arc of the first 3 Sutras for the first 6 weeks of 2026. We had the 'Arrival' with Sutra 1.1 - Atha Yoga anuΕΔsanam, the 'Settling' with Sutra 1.2, finishing with the 'Abiding' of Sutra 1.3 - TadΔ draΘΘuh svarΕ«pe'vasthΔnam
Come along!!!! Move, breathe, leave feeling lighter β¨
- Mon, Tues & Fri 9.30am (All Abilities)
- Tues 6pm & 7pm (Power)
