💜💚 PLS & PE RETURNS 💚💜

Although we dont shut down because there is always something to do, most of what we do is now term time.

Our young people may or may not have had a positive break, they may come back anxious, quiet, or they may come back full of beans.

How ever they return we just want them to return. Attendance is importance as we know they are safe with us, we can role model positive behaviours and help them to realise just how amazing they all are!!

💜💚 Message from Paul 💚💜

I'm not religious and dont really do new years stuff anymore as it's another day for the most part for me.

However I am learning about how others view things and feel things. I gave the young people at Positive Expressions and budget for Xmas gifts for their families to show the love.

I dont watch or read the news much either as its negative things for the most part (i mean this with love)

My goals are the same today as they were yesterday but I want to reinforce something.

Please be nice, not just when there's a camera or for social media, let's be nice all the time.

I work in a world where there is so much trauma, pain and suffering that just a small act of 'being nice' can make such a difference.

Sending love to all and hoping for health and happiness for all not just my connections but globally. 💜💜

💚 Paul Lavery Support sign up 💚

Just wanted to clear something up.

I run PLS and PE. PE is going through major change with opening a second site. As such I can sometimes not post as much about PLS and the great work we do, it's just as important and just as needed.

Our new site in Hexton will run in the same way as Stevenage. PE downstairs and PLS upstairs.

We will have class space, kitchenette, and office spaces.

So here's to PLS and the wonderful work our colleagues do daily and the growth we are going through 💚

If you or anyone you know has high safeguarding standards, at least one year of experience working with children with SEND or SEMH (0-25), a full driving license, is self-employed, and lives within the catchment area listed, please get in touch. We have a fantastic range of work available in both counties!

I have wanted to make some short videos about my reflections and offer for some time now, but I haven't gotten around to it .........until today!

I have signed up to absorb the wonderful messages and teachings that Hertfordshire County Council and their week have to offer around the voice of the child/young person.

Although only one day in i loved Sally glossop talk on all things and her role as graduated response lead for the LA.

It got me reflecting on my own practices and the wisdom and experience I have developed over the years. Below is my reflection on a situation from over 10 years ago!

is everyone's business, and it's lovely to hear a passionate person speak so clearly about the authority's direction. I'm excited to be part of the journey!!

Positive Post Alert ⏰ 😍 💜

For those who do not know, Paul Lavery Support is not my only offer.

I also run Positive Expressions, a small based in . We offer life and social skill-based sessions using experienced mentors, music (DJing, lyric composition, music creation, and more), Duke of Edinburgh (DofE), AQA unit award scheme (AQA UAS), and enrichment activities to promote attendance and engagement.

We only started in April of this year, and we are so happy with how things are progressing. Feedback like this from a parent makes your eyes water and your heart fill!!

This is why we get up in the morning 💜

Today is our young man's first day back at Positive Expressions (PE). Hertfordshire County Council and its fab teams trust us to support young people through PE.

For those who do not know, we are an alternative provision for 14-16-year-old males not in education. We offer life & social skills work, mentoring, and enrichment opportunities alongside our in-house music program. We are registered to deliver AQA unit award scheme. Last term, one young man received 8 AQA certificates, while another received 7. Both haven't been in school for some time for different reasons.

We are working alongside Hertfordshire County Council and its various teams to support and transition young people who are ready to return to local authority provisions. We love what we do, and if you want to learn more, please get in touch with us.

We asked him if he felt comfortable writing a brief testimonial on how he feels his time has been with us and how we may have supported him moving forward; below is his reply: WOW.

I work with young people who are not in school, and most need a chance to get going. Nothing concrete yet, but if there are any of you on here or you know of anyone in Hertfordshire that would take a young person (supervised at all times by a mentor) then please get in contact, thanks all and have a great weekend 💙
