Today I celebrated International Women’s Day by running a half marathon in Nottingham with my daughter Sophie and also Steve.

I have two amazing daughters - one stayed at home revising for her A-level mocks and the other one ran with us.

Sophie has trained so hard for this despite being in her second year of uni and having exams and assignments to deal with. I’m so proud of her resilience.

She was rewarded with an 8 minute PB 🥳

Steve and I also got a PB - Steve with 1:55 and me finally dipping under 2 hours at 1:59.

A brilliant day and back home for dinner at The Fisherman with our younger daughter.

Super proud of both my girls 🩷🩵

Running into the weekend like Carolyn….🤩

This incredible lady has allowed me to post this video of her out running yesterday (in her ASK Physio vest 😍).

Carolyn runs with FVS. Last year she had a partial knee replacement in February. Unfortunately she also had a stroke in October but as you can see she is recovering well.

For a lady who celebrated a big birthday recently I think she’s amazing and an absolute inspiration. She comes to hydro weekly and has found it has helped her a lot.

Lots of races on this weekend - good luck to everyone running Cambridge half marathon or any other events this Sunday.

Here is Emily with another one of our hydrotherapy success stories;

Ruth has consented to us posted about her experience.

She’s been coming to hydro as a 1:1 with Emily for the last 6 weeks.

She reports that since attending hydrotherapy;

1. Her back pain has reduced significantly.

2. She has had no further episodes of sciatica.

3. She no longer needs to use a stick outdoors.

4. She can stand and walk for longer periods.

But most importantly…..

She managed to take her granddaughter out for the day to the zoo without any problems 🩶

She’s booked in for further hydrotherapy as she loves how good it makes her feel!

Thanks Ruth for letting us share your story.

Most of you know how much I LOVE sport - well I really LOVED watching Matt Weston last night win our first medal 🥇- and a gold one too 🤩- at the Winter Olympics.

One thing that really struck me and I was texting Nicki about was what a really genuinely nice guy he seems. I loved his emotion (and Lizzy Yarnold’s back in the studio).

That’s my attempt at being topical and bringing ‘love’ into a social media post on Valentines Day ♥️.

What do you love?

We might be currently enjoying the Winter Olympics but this weekend Team England announced key members of the team who will support the athletes at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2026.

Our very own Nicki Combarro has been named as the Deputy Chef de Missions which means she will be overseeing the performance strategy, working closely with athletes and coaches within each sport to ensure the right support is in place to enable optimal performance.

Go Nicki 🙌🏻

This delightful lady is Jacky who is one of our Wednesday hydro patients.

(She also happens to be the Mum of FVS Alison)

She was recommended to us by a friend after struggling post knee replacement but also with other aches & pains to complicate things further including foot and ankle problems, back and hip wear and tear.

Jacky has been coming to hydro for a few months now and has seen some great improvements in her ability.

She excitedly told me today that she can now stand for long enough to make two cakes for the local Church Cafe - previously she had to stop a rest between the two or use a perch stool.

She has not only gained strength and ability but has also grown in confidence too. She has also now returned to her role on the Parish Council!

As you can see, Jacky loves her hydro sessions and is getting great benefit from attending.

Congratulations to Simon on getting 3rd place on the podium at the Bedgebury 10 mile race in Kent today.

Simon ran 10 miles in 1hr 5mins which is roughly how long it took me to run 6 miles today 😳

He’s been troubled with some Achilles’ issues but has been very disciplined with his rehab so today was a big win for him. His first race since July last year!

Well done Simon 💪🏻💪🏻🙌🏻👌🏻
