Riverside Reflexology

Riverside Reflexology Welcome to my page! My name is Jennifer Brown, but you can call me Jen :)

I trained with the International Institute of Reflexology (IIR).

Their training is very comprehensive - it took me over a year to complete the course, and I sat practical and theory exams on reflexology, an anatomy and physiology exam and completed 100 case study treatments. The IIR are the only school licensed to teach the Original Ingham Method. I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists, which means that my training has been deemed to be of good standard, I am insured to practice and that I will continue to develop my skills through ongoing training. I have a history of working in social care, both as a carer and in Social Work as an Occupational Therapist. My interests have always leaned towards complementary therapies and I am also a Reiki practitioner and crystal healer. I have extended my Reflexology training to include Facial Reflexology and also Zone Face Lift, which uses facial reflexology and massage to lift the spirits and help us to age well. I have personal experience of stress, anxiety and depression which makes me able to understand how devastating these can be. I will help you to reduce stress and tension and take back some control of your mind and body. Feel free to message me with any questions and I will do my best to answer them. If you would like to arrange an appointment then either message on facebook, email, text or call, whatever suits :)

Thanks for visiting my page :) Here's some more info:

Cancellation Policy

Missed appointments and late cancellations affect my business and other clients. To give me time to fill a vacant appointment, I request that you provide as much notice as possible if you wish to cancel your booking. I aim to be as flexible as possible and I appreciate that things sometimes happen beyond our control. To cancel an appointment please message me through Facebook Messenger, text or leave a voicemail on 07761 868 821, or email jen@riverside-reflexology.com

Cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full session charge, as it will be impossible to fill the appointment and therefore affect my income. Missed appointments will be charged at the full price of the session. If you arrive late for your appointment, you will be charged for the full session price. Please note that the treatment may have to be shortened to end at the scheduled time. If a gift voucher is used and you fail to show or cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, then the gift voucher will be taken as payment for the missed appointment. Riverside Reflexology reserves the right to:
• Cancel a session by giving 24 hours’ notice
• Cancel a session without notice in the case of illness or the room being unsuitable for use
• Cancel a session without notice if the client is intoxicated or suffering from a contagious illness

Riverside Reflexology is now closed until 15th September (on my hols) - terrible timing given my recent enforced time off.

I think I've contacted everyone who was cancelled due to my back issues, if you're not already booked in I will do this on my return.

I have a waiting list of existing clients wanting to book, I will contact you all on my return once I've caught up with myself a bit🙃

My books remain closed to new clients, unless you already have a voucher, however both involve waiting lists I'm afraid 😭 Apologies you're all having to wait so long.

Anyway, I will try and get to everyone as quickly as possible once I'm back to work. Look after yourselves my lovelies 😘 Jen ###

Those of you whose appointments were affected will know I was off recently - had a cold, sneezed and hurt my back. Well, my back has gone again. I'm struggling with mobility and pain at the moment, so cancelling appointments again. This isn't something I do lightly, I hate letting you down, and also if I don't work I don't earn. Please be patient while I quite literally get back on my feet. Thank you my lovelies 😘 Jen ###

My Story

Welcome to my page! My name is Jennifer Brown, but you can call me Jen :)

I’m 43 years old and have been married to Steve for almost 8 years. I initially trained in Reflexology in my twenties after losing my Mum to cancer, she had always been fascinated by complimentary therapies, and she got me interested too. I never used my training until I had a breakdown at work and had to leave. A stressful job in Social Work had taken its toll and I needed to find something that suited me better. I still wanted to help people, but without the stress and crippling anxiety on Monday mornings. So naturally I turned back to complimentary therapies and I re-trained as a Reflexologist. I have never been happier! I worked for 4 years as a mobile therapist, which was fantastic, however constantly lifting heavy equipment took a toll on me physically. When COVID-19 came along I was not allowed to work as a mobile therapist for 6 months due to the restrictions, so made the decision to rent a therapy room. I am excited for what this next chapter in my wee business will bring!

I have a history of working in social care, both as a carer and in Social Work as an Occupational Therapist. My interests have always leaned towards complementary therapies and I am also a Reiki practitioner and crystal healer. My love for Reflexology has seen me concentrate more on that, adding Facial Reflexology and Zone Face Lift into the services I offer. Although I don’t offer Reiki and Crystal healing as a seperate treatment, these can be added into your treatment as a wee extra, and I believe Reiki often flows during any touch, as long as the recipient is accepting of it.

I trained with the International Institute of Reflexology (IIR). Their training is very comprehensive - it took me over a year to complete the course, and I sat practical and theory exams on reflexology, an anatomy and physiology exam and completed 100 case study treatments. I have personal experience of stress, anxiety and depression which makes me able to understand how devastating these can be. I will help you to reduce stress and tension and take back some control of your mind and body. I use a medium pressure during treatments, however this is adjusted depending on your reactions/wishes. A treatment does not have to be painful to be effective, and although some areas may be tender, the session should generally be comfortable and relaxing :) Feel free to message me with any questions and I will do my best to answer them. If you would like to arrange an appointment then either message on facebook, email, text or call, whatever suits :) Thanks for visiting my page :) Jen ###
