In our Women’s Wellbeing group this week, we focused on managing stress and anxiety something many of us struggle with in the busy world we live in.
We can often find ourselves caught up in overwhelming thoughts, feeling stuck in our minds and forgetting about the space, calm, and support that exists outside of it.
During the session, we explored different ways to manage stress and bring ourselves back to the present moment. One lovely idea shared by a participant was creating a sensory box — a simple but powerful way to support regulation and grounding.
A sensory box can include things like:
✨ A favourite scent (essential oils, perfume, hand cream)
✨ Something soft or comforting (blanket, fabric, stress ball)
✨ Items that bring positive memories (photos, notes, affirmations)
✨ Tastes or treats (mints, sweets, herbal tea)
✨ Sounds (music playlist, calming audio)
These small, personal items can help soothe the nervous system, reduce overwhelm, and bring a sense of calm when we need it most.
💜 What helps you when you’re feeling overwhelmed?
Next week we continue exploring tools to support your wellbeing with a relaxing yoga class for our mind, body & soul.
