- **Discuss with Your Trainer:** Share your goals with your trainer so they can tailor the workouts to your needs. We can’t help you if you don’t tell us what you want!

- **Stick to Your Schedule:** Regular attendance is key to seeing progress. Commit to the sessions and follow the plan your trainer sets. I often find those who attend their sessions get the best results and those who are sporadic can still get results but they are adequate

- **Follow our Advice:** Trainers often provide guidance on diet, rest, and supplementary exercises. Adhering to our advice outside of sessions can accelerate results.

- **Give Feedback:** Let your trainer know if something isn’t working for you, whether it’s a particular exercise or if you’re struggling with motivation. I don’t mind awkward conversations and sometimes even differences of opinion but it can help us pull in the same direction towards your goals
- **Ask Questions:** Don’t hesitate to ask for clarification on techniques, exercise benefits, or nutrition tips. The more you understand, the more you’ll get out of your sessions.

Yep heard this a million times and that’s when we are personal trainers pull our clients off the floor and reinforce principles, remind clients of the facts and the science and reassure you this will work if you stick to the plan.

Diets fail when:

🥴 the diet doesn’t actually create a calorie deficit. This is key to fat loss and eating clean, going keto, shakes, or group plans won’t work unless you are in a Calorie deficit. We help you create this with a bespoke plan that is built around you rather than general advice. Eat 3000kals of salad per day and gain weight, eat 1000kcals of crisps and lose weight. We will show you how to do without resorting to either!

🥴 you can’t stick to it! Is it too restrictive? Do you self sabotage? We need to address this and appreciate your needs and lifestyle. We create plans that are flexible and also have the professionalism and care to change it when needed

🥴 the assumed energy Expenditure is wrong! Think that 20 mins run burned 1000 calories? Nope! We need to understand that exercise burns way less calories than you think and you will never out run a bad diet. Choose a better path with our help

You can’t out train a bad diet… it’s about 1 minute to eat a mars bar and it can take up to half an hour exercise to burn it off… the plan doesn’t work and never will

A theme comes up every couple of new clients when discussing why they want to train…

‘I just want to be able to play with my kids without my weight or tight muscles holding me back’

This is a really strong ‘why’ for us and something I’ve helped a lot of people with.

Almost every first consultation or session I have with a client involves me taking the time to put them at ease and debunk so many myths about what we do.

Offen, we are seen as taskmasters, aggressive, no excuses, shouty drill Sargents.

Some PTs still are (very 2000s)

Benefits of home personal training

In this day and age, it is easy to get caught up in the routine of everyday life, and forget about fitness. However, this can be detrimental to our health in the long run. But what if you could build exercise into your weekly routine?

Personal training at home means it couldn’t be easier to keep fit and healthy, no matter how busy you are.

Convenience
In the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life, it can be hard to squeeze in time to exercise. Fortunately, a personal trainer can help you get fit at a time and a place which suits you. Personal training at home could be the ideal solution for you, cutting traffic and travel time out of the equation. This means that you are not losing any of your day, and you can easily fit your work out in. This means that an hour long session is an hour, not an hours exercise plus an hours travelling. This is particularly handy for people balancing work and home life. The kids can take part or simply just do their thing… no need to organise child care and increase the stress and admin of simply trying to get fit

Privacy
As well as being convenient, being able to chose where you work out provides more privacy. You may feel insecure about your fitness, or you may find exercise daunting. Personal training at home ensures that you feel comfortable while working out. Working-out in the comfort of your own home can really kick-start your fitness journey, without the fear of others watching.

On a fat loss journey?

To help you achieve this goal it’s really important to understand what’s important and what’s not going to make the needle move so to speak.

Plenty of clients over the years have come to us having failed in their fat loss journey and we have consistently found the efforts were genuine but the priorities and the methods were flawed and so the results simply didn’t happen.

In this post we can let you in on a little knowledge and hopefully you can progress your journey a little and if you decide to work with us we can help you really ramp up the fat loss results!

Here’s the hierarchy of fat loss in order of importance

1/ energy balance- create a calorie deficit
2/ macro balances of protein carbs and fats
3/ Sleep- mood and hunger pangs are affected by sleep and also energy levels for movement
4/ fibre and micronutrients
5/ meal frequency

Underpinning all this is adherence.

This is so important! If you can’t stick to the process created it’s destined to fail.

Another major fail is a diet that actually fails to put you in a calorific deficit. 3000 Calories of salad a day will put fat on and 1000 calories per day of crisps will create a fat loss. Please don’t do either, there are other health factors at play!
