Free Thai yoga massage taster sessions

This Saturday (15th November) I am offering free 15 minute taster sessions in my therapy space at Lentils and Lather in Marple.

If you are unfamiliar with Thai yoga massage, it takes place fully clothed while lying on a futon on the floor. It combines smooth, flowing movements to press and stretch the whole body combined with assisted yoga postures. It is deeply relaxing and therapeutic.

If you are curious then either come along on Saturday or message me direct if you want to book a specific time.

Are you in need of a rest?

We live in a society that promotes busyness. There is a pressure to always be doing something, to be productive and not to waste time. So much so that it is easy to get caught in a rat run of busyness that can lead you into tiredness, depletion, and ill health.

Thai yoga massage stimulates the deep rest response, allowing you to take the healing rest that you need to restore, rejuvenate, and renew from within. It provides opportunity for the body to repair and heal itself.

I have appointments available on Thursdays and Fridays in Marple. If you are interested in a massage then please message me for more info.

I have therapy appointments available on Thursdays and Fridays during November at my usual venue of Lentils & Lather in Marple.

As well as Thai yoga massage and Indian head massage, I'm now offering a new session called Sanctuary and Self. This combines your choice of massage therapy with a personalized chakra analysis. When your body relaxes, your mind opens—and that's when real insights emerge.

It's a chance to step away from daily demands and gain clarity on what's truly working in your life right now (and what might need attention). For those who discover they're ready for change, these sessions naturally flow into my ongoing coaching programs.

Although today is Halloween, in the celtic wheel of the year today is known as Samhain (pronounced "Sah-wane"). It marks the half way point between the Autumn equinox and the Winter solstice.

At this time of the year, and especially after the clocks have gone back, it can feel as though we are enveloped by darkness. There can be a sadness at the dark evenings, dark mornings and frequently gloomy daylight hours.

But this is only one phase of the year. A necessary one for the natural world to slow down and rest. I like to embrace this season by slowing down too. I like to cook hearty stews and soups, cosy up on the sofa with a blanket and a good book, and bring light into my home with fairy lights or lighting a candle. These things make sense at this time of the year so I choose to savour them.

My Menopause Reset course is not about "pushing through" or another thing to add to your to-do list. It's actually about giving yourself permission to slow down, breathe, and move gently.

Each week we'll explore practices like gentle yoga, breathwork, meditation and yoga nidra – things that genuinely help your nervous system settle and help you feel more like yourself again.

Plus there's space for real conversation and coaching about what you're actually experiencing.

If you are interested we start on Saturday. For more details and bookings follow the link belowhttps://www.yogatherapystockport.co.uk/menopause/

The time around menopause can feel like your body and mind has turned against you. But what if we shifted that?

My 4-week programme isn't about "fixing" menopause. It's about learning to move with it, rest through it, befriend it and come out the other side feeling more like yourself – not less.

Anyone interested? https://www.yogatherapystockport.co.uk/menopause/

Letting go...

Just like the trees have the wisdom to let go of their leaves in autumn, the autumn could inspire you to let go of thoughts and beliefs that are no longer serving you.

The process of letting go is an invitation to check in with yourself and re-prioritise what is truly important to you. It is a process of clearing the way and making space so that you able to give more time and attention to the things that really do matter.

So pause for a moment and think.

What gets in the way of you connecting with the things that are really important to you?

What could you let go of to change this?

If you feel lost at the thought of how to start creating space into your life, then please message me and ask about coaching. I will soon be announcing coaching packages to let go of busyness and move towards joy.

Today is world menopause day and this years theme is lifestyle medicine. This theme really resonates with me as I believe that much of good health originates with the lifestyle we live and menopause is no different.

Menopause can be the catalyst that brings our lifestyle into focus, and the changes that we make during this time not only benefits us now but can set up the foundations for healthy aging.

If you feel like you need a lifestyle reset then check out my new course Menopause Reset below.

I am really excited to be offering this new course to support menopausal women.

This course is an invitation to commit to nurturing yourself deeply as you discover techniques and practices to support your mental and physical wellbeing.

Each two hour session focuses on a cornerstone of wellbeing during menopause: managing stress so your body can find balance, resting deeply to support your hormonal health, moving in ways that strengthen and nurture you, and cultivating the self-compassion that carries you through this transition with grace.

Did you know?

"Estrogen has a role in managing the levels of cortisol in the body, so as estrogen levels fluctuate or drop, we're less able to regulate cortisol levels as effectively, and feel more stressed as a result. Also, the adrenal glands have a secondary function in producing estrogen when the ovaries are slowing down, but those poor adrenals will always prioritise stress hormones first, so estrogen drops further. And we feel more stressed."
- Kate Codrington, Second Spring

This is why it is so beneficial to reduce stress around menopause. Being more sensitive to stress often requires new strategies and approaches to managing stress. Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep is a great way to soothe the nervous system. and is just one of the areas I will be focusing on during my upcoming Menopause Reset course.
