🌟 Out and about at Bede Sixth Form College

Kim and Lesley had a fantastic time today attending Bede Sixth Form College progression event, chatting with students about dementia, raising awareness, and helping young people understand how they can make a difference in their communities 💙

A huge thank you to the NHS Melissa Bus for providing the amazing inflatable brain 🧠 it was a brilliant way to spark conversations and get students involved!

Great conversations and a great day all round! ✨

*** Be Bin Day Ready for 2026 ***

If you have questions about your new food waste recycling service due to start on March 31 you can ask our Resident Engagement Officers who are out and about in the Borough next week.

From April, changes to the law mean all local authorities in England must collect food waste from all homes weekly – and we’re here to help you prepare.

Next week is Food Waste Action Week and you can talk to our Resident Engagement Officers about food recycling or ask any other waste and recycling questions at:

✅ Stockton Central Library, Wednesday 11 March, 10am to 3pm

✅ Thornaby Library, Thursday 12 March, 10am to 3pm

✅ Billingham Library, Friday 13 March, 10am to 3pm

Food waste and other recycling will be collected weekly from Tuesday 31 March. General waste, the non-recyclable waste that normally goes in your green wheeled bin, will be moving to fortnightly collections in the Borough.

Caddies and blue recycling bags are being delivered now to ensure households right across the Borough are prepared for the new collections.

For more information on the changes visit www.stockton.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling-improvements.
