We are the independent champion for people who use health and care services across Stockton. Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees is a part of Healthwatch England.

We are the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. We listen to what people tell us about the services they use locally and want to know what is working well and what needs to be improved. Where necessary we have a statutory power to go into any health or social care premises to see at first hand the service being delivered. We can talk to patients/carers and to staff members to gather more information. We share the information we gather with those who have the power to make change happen. We also help people find the information they need about services in their area.

The next session of the Stockton Lived Experience Forum with Red Balloons and Starfish Health & Wellbeing Stockton takes place tomorrow.

Lynn from our Engagement Team will be there to listen to your health and care experiences and provide advice and information on local health and care services.

For anyone who has lived experience of poor mental health, personally or as a carer, it is a chance to share your thoughts and make a difference.

Your Voice Matters in Cancer Care

We’ve just published our latest report on personalised cancer care across Tees Valley, based on the lived experiences of 71 local people.

Their stories reveal strengths, but also serious gaps in emotional support, financial help, and access to services.

Our findings are already driving change, with the ICB using them to shape future services.

Shape The Play is offering Tackle the Mind sessions, delivered in partnership with Queen's Campus Sport Page.

This 6-week FREE programme is all about supporting men’s mental health and exploring how being physically active can really boost your wellbeing.

Each week includes a relaxed, friendly discussion around men’s mental health in a safe and supportive space, followed by a different sport or physical activity.

This sets out what the Board and its member agencies have done to carry out and deliver the objectives of the Strategic Plan.

The report also outlines how the Board is monitoring policies and how it intends to further deliver its plans for the future.

As we come to the end of October, we want to raise awareness of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

ADHD Awareness Month is about breaking down myths, reducing stigma, and sharing reliable information so families feel informed and supported.

ADHD is a condition where someone’s brain works differently to most people’s.
