Hi, I’m Sophie, the yoga instructor here at Pivot!

I’m so happy you’re here and can’t wait to share my love of movement and mindfulness with you in matwork.

Through my Ashtanga practice, I discovered that the stories we tell ourselves are the ones that say “I can’t” are almost always wrong. My goal is to help you prove those stories wrong too, one breath and one pose at a time.

In my classes, I love creating a supportive space where you can build strength, courage and confidence from the ground up.

My specialty (and absolute joy!) is inversions. Helping our clients realise that being upside down can actually help you see yourself and your world in a whole new way.

My favourite posture? A handstand! I never thought I’d be able to do one and that journey has taught me so much about patience, trust and the power of practice.

When I’m not on the mat, you’ll find me in the gym, lifting weights or spending time with my three amazing children which are my biggest inspiration to keep following my dreams and showing them what’s possible.

Contrary to all those photos of Joseph Pilates pushing people into stretches…

I would never force a movement or a nerve stretch.

Hands-on work isn’t about control it’s about communication. Touch helps someone understand where they are in space, how their body is responding, and what true movement feels like.

When you push through the body’s natural protective mechanisms, you’re not “deepening” the stretch you’re overriding safety and risking injury.

Smart movement isn’t forceful. It’s intentional.

Hi, I’m Jennifer, it’s so lovely to meet you! 🤎

At Pivot, my goal has always been to create a space away from the pressures of everyday life somewhere you can feel supported, relaxed and truly heard.

A place to slow down, connect with others and focus on listening to your body while quietening your thoughts.

I’m a Clinical Pilates Instructor and physiotherapist with a special interest in jaw and spinal conditions. But more than that, I’m endlessly fascinated by how movement and science can help us live better, healthier lives with the people we love.

Isn’t it amazing how much we’re learning every day about the body’s ability to heal, adapt and grow stronger?

At Pivot, every class, every treatment and every conversation is rooted in that ongoing learning combining evidence-based practice with empathy, community and support.

A little more about me:
- My favourite Pilates move? The Leg Pull in prone (my regulars will definitely recognise that one!)
- When I’m not in the studio, I’m living canal boat life with my partner and our puppy, Hughie.

Our community is growing and we are looking to welcome a new instructor into Pivot Therapies.

We are looking for a reformer instructor who’s confident in their teaching but more importantly truly cares about our community. Someone who understands that Pilates isn’t just about movement but about connection, trust and helping people feel at home in their bodies.

We offer felixaeble hours in our beautiful studio with high end equipment.

You must hold a Level 3 Matwork qualification and experience in reformer is essential.
