📢 Important Information About Our Online Consultation Tool (October 2025)

Dear Patients,

We’re pleased to offer an online consultation tool as part of our service. It’s a convenient way to contact us about your health and can often save you time. However, please remember that it’s not suitable for urgent or serious problems.

🚨 Do NOT use the online form if you are experiencing:
• Chest pain or difficulty breathing
• Severe abdominal pain
• Signs of a stroke (e.g. facial droop, weakness, difficulty speaking)
• Heavy bleeding
• Sudden confusion or collapse
• Or if you feel your life may be at risk

👉 In these cases, please call 999 immediately or go to your nearest A&E department.

📞 If your problem is urgent but not life-threatening, please telephone the practice so we can assess and advise you quickly.

💻 The online consultation tool works best for:
• Routine queries
• Sick note requests (for conditions already assessed by a clinician)
• Non-urgent health advice
• Follow-up questions about existing conditions

Using the service appropriately helps us keep it safe and effective for everyone. Please note, if the number of queries rises above safe capacity, your query may be added to a waiting list to be answered at a later date.

Before submitting an online query, please check whether another service can help:

💊 Medication or prescription queries – use the NHS App or speak to your community pharmacy

📢 As of September 2025 Cervical Screening Results will be sent via the NHS App 📢

From September, if your cervical screening result is negative, you may receive it directly through the NHS App instead of by post.

• You’ll get a message in the app (this will appear as an NHS app notification) and if it isn’t read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a back-up.

• Letters for abnormal results will STILL be sent by post for now.

This change follows the success of digital invitations and reminders earlier this year — helping patients receive information more quickly and securely.

What you can do now:
✅ Download the NHS App: www.nhs.uk/nhs-app
✅ Turn on notifications so you don’t miss your result
✅ Enjoy other features of the app, such as booking GP appointments and viewing test results
