If Only Shoes Could Talk….

What Would Your Footwear Say?

One thing we love to do as Podiatrists is to look at the shoe wear pattern on the base of your shoes.

A common problem we see is wearing down of the outside of the heel. Contrary to what people may think, this is not a sign that your feet are rolling in or out, but it is actually more to do with your hip and leg position as your foot swings through one step to the next.

By looking at your shoes, podiatrists can detect problems with hamstrings, Achilles tendons, big toes, knees, hips and back pain.

Your shoes don’t lie!!

Amazing results for this lovely lady!!!

This patient quite literally hobbled into the Podiatry Clinic 6 months ago with painful, dry, cracked Psoriatic plaques on both of her feet which were hugely restricting her daily activity levels.

With regular visits to us for routine Podiatric care, short term corticosteroid application, and twice daily emollients her feet are now back to full working order 👌 we are so pleased with the outcome!!

Palmoplantar psoriasis is a form of psoriasis that affects the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. Symptoms include areas of raised, thickened, and discoloured skin. It can also cause pain, bleeding and skin cracking.

If you are suffering with any type of skin condition on your feet please do not be embarrassed to ask for help, we can tailor a treatment plan to fit your needs. Contact the Clinic on 01782 398910 for any help or advice.

These lower limb abnormalities can be realigned with a customised foot Orthosis to improve gait and reduce pain/discomfort when walking.

Contact the clinic for an assessment if you have any issues with lower limb pain, we are here to help!

At Total Foot Care we also provide treatment for patients with Diabetes.

People with Diabetes are more susceptible to injury and infection due to exposure to long term high blood glucose levels which can lead to a loss of sensation in the feet and poor circulation, which means you may not notice an injury or cuts to the feet.

Podiatrists are the leading practitioners for diabetic foot health education and prevention of these long term foot complications.

Contact the clinic on 01782 398910 to book your next Diabetic foot check! 👣

That looks painful!!!! 😳😳
Ingrowing toe nails are amongst one of the most common problems treated by a Podiatrist. They develop when the sides of the toenail grow into the surrounding skin. They can be extremely painful and can sometimes require surgery. This may be part (partial nail avulsion) or total (total nail avulsion). Our team of highly qualified Podiatrists have years of experience in treating this condition.
There is no need for a referral and no lengthy waiting lists.
Give us a call to discuss further if you are suffering with ingrowing toenails, we are here to help 😀😀🦶
