Yesterday we went Limitless 💫
5 schools. 60+ Y7–Y9 students with SEND.
A day filled with movement, creativity and belonging and a reminder of why inclusion matters.

Many children and young people with SEND face barriers to being active, from confidence to opportunity, from feeling left out to spaces that don’t fit their needs. Limitless was about changing that.
About showing that when activity is made accessible and welcoming, every young person can move, belong and thrive.

Huge thanks to the brilliant providers and volunteers who joined us, the amazing Together Active team, and especially Charlotte, our Children and Young People’s Officer, who worked tirelessly to make Limitless such a success. 💙

And of course, to every teacher, support staff member and young person who brought the energy, you made it unforgettable!

Because movement should never be a privilege. It should be possible for everyone.

How We Get Active – Meet Jackie! 🚴‍♀️

Every Monday we’re sharing how our brilliant team keep moving outside of work and Jackie’s favourite way to do this is by getting out on her bike!

Jackie loves cycling so much that she travels all over the world to do it. From gliding along peaceful canal paths to tackling epic cycle routes, she’s always ready for an adventure. She even carries everything she needs so she can pitch up for the night wherever she ends up!

Jackie shares: “I was lucky enough to be able to cycle to school as a child and to cycle to play with my mates. I still love that feeling of independence and exploration being on two wheels can give you.”

🎉 On Wednesday, our Children and Young People’s Development Officer, Charlotte, joined the fun at the annual Playday event in Burton-on-Trent!

Playday which is inspired by National Play Day and running locally for over 22 years, is all about celebrating children’s right to play. Each year it brings families together for a free, fun-filled day, with plenty of activities to enjoy.

This year’s highlight was an exciting scooter session at the local skate park, sponsored by the Police and Crime Commissioner, and featuring none other than world champion Jayden Sharman! 🛴⭐ It was fantastic to see so many children inspired and getting involved.

Alongside the activities, local clubs, providers, and organisations showcased the brilliant opportunities available in our communities.

👏 Huge thanks to ESBC, Everyone Active, and all the partners who made the day such a success and to the families who came along to enjoy it!

How We Get Active - Meet Charlotte! 🥎

At Together Active, we know that movement isn’t just about exercise, it’s about finding something you love doing.
Over the next few weeks, we’re sharing how our amazing team stay active outside of work.

First up is Charlotte, our Children and Young People’s Officer!🌟

When she’s not helping communities get moving, you’ll find her on the rounders pitch, having a laugh with teammates, enjoying friendly competition, and making the most of summer evenings keeping active.

"Being active is part of my life thanks to Together Active and I feel supported to be able to go to the gym and play rounders. I love playing rounders because it makes me feel part of a community and gives me a real sense of belonging. There’s no pressure or intense competition, just the joy of being active together, spending time outdoors, and having fun with community members.”

🌍✨ Happy International Youth Day! ✨🌍

Today we’re not just celebrating young people, we’re also celebrating the amazing organisations across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent who work tirelessly to support them. 💚

We’re especially proud of the work led by our Children and Young People’s Development Officer, Charlotte. From hosting fun, active events to working with schools across the region, Charlotte finds creative and unique ways to engage more young people to get moving, connect with others, and discover new activities they love. 🎯🎨⚽

Whether it’s through sports, arts, outdoor adventures, or community projects, these opportunities help young people feel confident, included, and inspired.

🙌 Thank you to all the partners we work with, your passion and commitment make a real difference every day. And to the young people taking part, keep showing up, trying new things, and enjoying the journey!

Last week, our Together Active team came together for a really special day, a chance to connect, collaborate, and have some fun outside the usual office routine.

We joined forces with the lovely folks at Brilliant Bamboo to help breathe new life into a forgotten corner of Stoke-on-Trent, where the old Minton Factory once stood.

This space is being transformed into a beautiful little ‘parklet’, a green, creative spot where people of all ages can enjoy art, nature, science, and activities that celebrate sustainability and our environment.

Spending time working together as a team outside our normal routines reminds us just how important it is to nurture our team, to support one another, and to grow stronger together, not only for ourselves but for the communities we serve.

A huge thank you to Brilliant Bamboo for welcoming us and letting us support their work from the ground up, because nothing says team-building like a bit of dirt under the nails!
