From 02 March - 16 March we’ll be posting remembrance candles as a special token to those who can’t be with us this Mother’s Day.

We're getting ready to head down to the open day at The Old Chapel Etruria - Bespoke Funeral Venue today 10am-2pm. All is welcome, pop down, have a cuppa, see our team again or meet us in person! We're there with some information on pre-paid funeral plans, direct cremation enquiries and there for general chat. Would be lovely to see you.

And lastly, an insight to Samantha ❤️

I joined the funeral service in 2016. I started as an arranger, before moving to funeral service operative and working night shifts during the Covid pandemic. In 2022, I joined the family independent funeral directors at W.R Bettelley, alongside Josh, as a funeral director.

In 2024, I was proudly made funeral service manager. I work alongside Josh, ensuring the business runs as smoothly as possible, from bringing loved ones into care, arranging the funerals, assisting in the care and preparation of your loved ones to conducting on the day. I support families after the funeral, with advice on headstones, interments/strewings and I'm an appointed representative for the sale of pre-paid plans.

As a funeral director, to look after bereaved families and their loved ones entrusted in my care as I do my own, is an honour. I do my role out of genuine compassion, love and care and sometimes spend more time with those than my own family. On the day of a funeral, I am filled with such honour and pride. Im so privileged to be in the role I serve and help families across Staffordshire Cheshire and beyond, with a wonderful team around me.

When I hang up my hat in the evening, I am a mum to 3 beautiful children, I enjoy coffee and reading, and watching all sorts of crime drama documentaries! I love studying history, visiting cities, theatre trips (especially Phantom of the Opera) and seeing the sunset by the sea (not forgetting my slight obsession with palm trees!). Xx

An introduction to Josh ❤️

Hi, I’m Josh, the third-generation Director and Funeral Director at W.R. Bettelley Funeral Directors.

I’ve proudly followed in my family’s footsteps for the past 13 years, dedicating myself to caring for families in their time of need. My role covers every part of life at W.R. Bettelley – from bringing your loved one into our care, to guiding families through arrangements, and making sure the business runs smoothly day to day.

Outside of work, I enjoy golf, aquatics, and I’m a big lover of collectibles.

Here at W.R. Bettelley, I truly believe we have the very best team. We lead with love, compassion, and support for every family we serve and everyone we come into contact with. I couldn’t be more proud to be part of it.

My name is Chrissy, and I have the profound privilege of working with WR Bettelley – an independent funeral directors like no other. When families entrust their loved ones into our care, we hold that responsibility as sacred; every person we look after was someone’s partner, parent, child, or friend, a life filled with stories we honour by preparing them with dignity for their final journey. We walk alongside families through their grief, standing steady when the world feels uncertain, learning their loved one’s favourite songs and holding space for tears and cherished memories alike. Our team is bound by a deep commitment to serve with compassion and integrity, and this isn’t just my job – it’s a calling I could never walk away from.

Hi, I’m Kate, a funeral operative at W.R Bettelley Funeral Directors.

Working in the funeral industry is something I’ve always wanted to do. I see my role as a carer — looking after your loved ones with dignity, respect and compassion from the moment they come into our care through to their final journey.

It’s more than a job; it’s a calling. Supporting families at such a difficult time is a privilege I hold close to my heart, and after 18 months with W.R Bettelley, I feel honoured to have met so many incredible people.

Behind the uniform, I’m also a proud mum of three. My family remind me every day just how much love sits behind every goodbye.
