For the women over 40 who are training hard but barely eating… this is for you! 🫵🏼

Many women in their 40s and beyond are working out consistently, trying to lose weight and build lean muscle — yet they’re under-fueling their bodies, especially protein and overall energy.

Here’s what often happens 👇

When you don’t eat enough (particularly enough protein and carbs) while exercising:

• Your body perceives stress
• Cortisol (your main stress hormone) stays elevated
• Your nervous system remains stuck in fight-or-flight
Instead of burning fat and building muscle, your body switches into survival mode.
High cortisol over time can:
• Make fat loss harder (especially around the belly)
• Break down muscle tissue
• Disrupt sleep
• Increase cravings and fatigue
• Slow metabolism rather than speed it up
Now add circadian rhythm into the mix.

Your circadian rhythm is your body’s internal clock, it regulates hormones, digestion, metabolism, and sleep. When you:

• Skip meals
• Train hard without fueling
• Under-eat during the day
• Over-stimulate your body late at night

You confuse this rhythm.
The result?

• Poor recovery
• Poor sleep
• Higher cortisol at night
• Less growth hormone and muscle repair
• More inflammation and exhaustion

💡 Building lean muscle and losing fat after 40 requires safety, not starvation.

Your body needs:
✔️ Enough calories
✔️ Enough protein
✔️ Consistent meals
✔️ Proper recovery
✔️ A calm nervous system

Fueling your body isn’t “eating too much”… it’s giving your metabolism permission to work.

If your training feels harder, your results have stalled, or you’re always tired… it’s often not because you’re doing too little, but because you’re doing too much without enough fuel.

Happy New Year! 🎉

✨We hope 2026 brings you health, happiness, and confidence in every step you take.

The start of a new year is often a time for reflection - and for many, a desire to feel stronger, more mobile, more independent, and more comfortable in their own body.

Whether that means moving with less pain, improving balance, building fitness, or even losing weight in a safe and supported way, we’re here to help.

At Ability Support & Education, we believe fitness should be accessible, personal, and built around you — not the other way around.

✨ How we can support you or your loved ones:

▪️FREE in-home consultations in the comfort of your own home
▪️A dedicated coach who can visit regularly for exercise sessions and wellbeing check-ins
▪️Personal training at the Gym, outdoors in nature, or at home - your choice!
▪️Support for improving mobility, independence, confidence, fitness, and weight management
▪️Specialist chair-based and adapted exercise sessions for the elderly and disabled
▪️Ongoing exercise and wellness sessions delivered in care homes and supported living settings

You don’t need to be “fit” to start - you just need to start. We meet you exactly where you are, both physically and emotionally, and progress at a pace that feels right for you.

💬 Not for you?
If you know a friend, family member, or loved one who could benefit from gentle support, improved mobility, or personalised coaching, we’d be incredibly grateful if you passed our details on. One conversation can make a life-changing difference.

📅 Book your FREE consultation today. There’s no pressure, no obligation - just a friendly conversation about how we can support you in 2026.

Let this be the year you (or someone you care about) feel stronger, steadier, and more confident every day.

Warm wishes for a happy and healthy New Year, from the at Ability Support & Education
