We are kindly asking for donations of any gaming consoles you no longer need or comic books 🎮 📖

At Brighter Futures we always look for different ways to engage our customers and create new communities to grow and develop. Through our ongoing engagement work and actively listening to our customers, many of them expressed an interest in gaming and with the recent launch of our Digital Den, we are hoping to also include gaming nooks and reading corners during those session to create a Digitally Exclusive Community Cafe!

We appreciate any donation and support 🤝

It’s Asbestos Safety Awareness Week, and we’ve created a simple information leaflet to help tenants understand what asbestos is and how to stay safe in their homes 🏡⚠️

Asbestos was widely used in older buildings, and while it’s safe when left undisturbed, damaged materials can release harmful fibres into the air 🚨
That’s why it’s important not to cut, drill, break, or disturb anything you think may contain asbestos. Always report concerns so trained specialists can check it safely.

This week, Natalie, our Health & Safety Coordinator, will be visiting sites to speak with customers, answer questions, and offer advice about asbestos and safety across our services.

If you have concerns about asbestos 👇
🗣️ Speak to your Housing Worker

The recent Board Away Day was a brilliant opportunity for our board members to step back from day to day responsibilities and focus on strategic thinking, reflection, and team collaboration 🤝

The day was held on the 5th November at Port Vale Football Club on Hamil Road in Burselm, and created a space for open discussion and meaningful team-building 👥 🌟

Damp and Mould Awareness Week has ended but it will always be a top priority at Brighter Futures!

With Awaab's Law now in place, it's more important than ever to share these key Health & Safety messages with our customers and empower them to identify and raise concerns with our teams.

Natalie’s roadshow continued as she visited several sites, sharing practical advice on:
✔️ Recognising damp and mould
✔️ How to prevent damp and mould
✔️ Staying safe during the colder months
✔️ When and how to report any concerns

Remember❗
If you think you may have damp or mould in your home:

Yesterday, we proudly joined forces with Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Epic Housing, and Honeycomb Group for the debut screening of our short film, 100 Years of Social Housing🎬

The film explores how social housing began, why it was created, and how it continues to transform lives across Stoke-on-Trent today.

Working in partnership, we launched the film at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, alongside an exclusive Q&A panel featuring Cllr Robinson, CEOs Tracey, Maxine and Julie, City Council Director of Housing Management, Paul Parkinson, Historian Fred Hughes, Housing and Regeneration Expert, Dave Proudlove and Reels in Motion's Creative Director, Phil!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to all of our partners who make this vital work possible. Our shared commitment ensures that we not only reflect on the past 100 years but look ahead to the next 100...together🤝

🎥 So without further ado, here’s the film:

🎉 It’s TPAS Tenant Involvement Week and we’re celebrating all things Customer Voice! 🎉

This year, we’ve rolled out our Customer Engagement Strategy, and we've started to lay the foundations for meaningful involvement and scrutiny.

Brighter Futures customers have stepped up, made their voices heard, and already started to shape policies and services that matter to them.

So, here's the journey so far in numbers:
👥 49 customers involved in informal engagement or structured activities
❓ 20 spot-checking surveys completed about our repair service
🧡 8 loyalty cards handed out to reward involvement
💬 4 focus groups held since April 2025
📄 3 new policies signed off and implemented
🤝 1 Learning Disabilities Hub launched based on customer feedback!

We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come and even prouder of our customers who are building confidence, speaking up, and making a difference in their communities.

👀 Stay tuned as we launch two brand new customer roles...Void Inspectors and Mystery Shoppers!

Lots of spooktacular fun was had at our Halloween parties! 🎃

Customers and colleagues got together to get into the spooky spirit, with plenty of treats (maybe a couple of tricks!), games, and activities like pumpkin painting, ring toss, and pin the eye on the skeleton!

We're loving these photos as it looks like everyone had a ghoulish time!👻

However, events like these aren't just about having fun (even though we love that too!) but about building supportive communities, fostering trust, and offering added-value engagement opportunities.

Are you a customer of Brighter Futures and want to get invovled?
