🌟 Patient of the Week 🌟

This week’s Patient of the Week is the lovely Millie!

Mum and Millie first came to see our Osteopath Hannah at just 8 weeks old with some feeding difficulties 🍼and generally being unsettled. 😭 At which time it only took a couple of sessions to get her more settled.

More recently she has been back in for a check-up at 7 months old as mum noticed that Millie was struggling to put her arms down on the floor during tummy time and was not reaching out for toys. 🧸 Being the little superstar she is, in just a few sessions, Millie can now reach out for toys with both arms 🙌 and is now rolling with ease and is happy playing on her tummy!

Just like us all, when there are areas of tension in the body we don’t move as well. With little ones their nervous and muscular systems 💪 develop and learn at such a rapid pace they respond brilliantly to hands-on care, helping them stay on track to their next development milestone.

If you’ve noticed your little one is struggling with their movements, give us a call and we can check them over. 📞🤙

When you spend the weekend at a seminar for infant feeding and tongue-tie 😆
A fabulous day learning about the impact of birth and breastfeeding on the infant gut microbiome, looking at tongue-ties and discussing the importance of the ‘golden bubble’ for establishing breastfeeding in newborns.

🌟 Patient of the Week 🌟

This week's Patient of the Week is 4 month old Theo! 👶

Theo’s parents brought him in when they noticed that he was struggling to hold his head up straight. He was also having difficulty turning his head to one side. 👀⬅️

Did you know torticollis is the technical name for tight muscles on one side of the neck that can result in the head tilting and/or rotating to one side and it is fairly common with up to 3 in 100 babies affected, but it often isn’t noticed until baby is a few months old and starting to gain more control of their head.

After a few weekly sessions of gentle stretching, mobilisation and cranial work 💆‍♂️ with our osteopath Hannah and some home exercises 💪, Theo is now able to hold his head up straight and can now happily turn his head in both directions. Family and friends 👨‍👩‍👦 have commented on the improvement they have seen in his movement and position. 🚼

Theo is always full of smiles through his treatment and brings a bit of sunshine into the centre with him! ☀️ Great work Theo! (And Mum and Dad!)

Excited to be en-route to another paediatric training day with CNMO - college of non musculoskeletal osteopathy.
