๐ŸŒฟ Stress Awareness Week 2025 โ€“ 3rd to 7th November ๐ŸŒฟ

This week is Stress Awareness Week, a time to pause, reflect and talk about something that affects us all โ€” stress.

Stress is a normal part of life, but when it builds up, it can take a real toll on both our mental and physical health. From tiredness and headaches to anxiety and poor sleep โ€” the signs can show in many different ways.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The theme for this year is โ€œOptimising Wellbeing Through Strategic Stress Management.โ€
Itโ€™s a reminder that small steps can make a big difference โ€” whether thatโ€™s taking a short walk, talking to someone you trust, or setting aside time to rest and recharge.

๐Ÿ’š Here are a few simple ways to manage stress:
โœ… Take regular breaks and spend time outdoors
โœ… Stay connected โ€“ talk to family, friends, or colleagues
โœ… Practice mindfulness or deep breathing
โœ… Get enough sleep and eat well
โœ… Ask for help when you need it โ€“ youโ€™re never alone

Letโ€™s use this week to check in with ourselves and with others. If youโ€™re feeling overwhelmed, please reach out to your GP practice or visit the NHS website for advice and support.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Together, we can break the stigma and make talking about stress a normal part of everyday life.

November is here, and that means itโ€™s Movember โ€” a month dedicated to raising awareness for menโ€™s health. From mental wellbeing to physical health, men face unique challenges, and itโ€™s time to start the conversation.

This month, men around the world are growing moustaches to spark discussions about:
Mental health & su***de prevention
Prostate cancer awareness
Testicular cancer awareness

Itโ€™s not just about growing a moustache โ€” itโ€™s about checking in, speaking up, and supporting one another. A simple conversation can make a world of difference.

โœ… What you can do:
- Start the conversation about menโ€™s health
- Schedule a health check-up
- Support Movember initiatives in your community
- Share this post to help raise awareness

Letโ€™s break the stigma, promote early detection, and support the men in our lives.

๐ŸŒŸ Have Your Say! ๐ŸŒŸ

Weโ€™re currently running a resident survey to help us better understand local experiences and needs around sexual health services โ€” including access to contraception, STI testing, and wider sexual wellbeing support.

Your feedback will help us improve services across Stoke-on-Trent, making sure theyโ€™re inclusive, accessible, and responsive to everyoneโ€™s needs.

Weโ€™re especially keen to hear from groups who may have faced barriers accessing services, or who feel their voices arenโ€™t always heard. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

๐Ÿ•’ The survey is anonymous, takes around 10 minutes to complete, and is open to residents aged 16+.
๐Ÿ“… Closes on Monday 24th November.
