😷A kind reminder to all our patients😷

WEAR A MASK

For the safety and well-being of all our patients and staff, Stokesley Surgery is encouraging the use of face masks for individuals attending the surgery with respiratory symptoms or acute respiratory illnesses.
This measure is being introduced in the best interest of our patients particularly those who are vulnerable.

This applies to patients with symptoms including, but not limited to:
🦠Coughs/ Colds
🦠Sore throats
🦠Fevers
🦠Chest infections

What to expect:
🦠When you book your appointment, our reception team will inform you if you are advised to wear a mask based on your reported symptoms.
🦠The Doctor or Clinician you are scheduled to see will also be wearing a mask during your consultation.
🦠Masks are available from our reception desk for all patients who wish to wear one.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Thank you,

Stokesley Surgery

We send questionnaires via text message to patients after most appointments - where we ask how they found the Surgery overall.

In December we received 433 responses of which the responses were as follows:

Very Good - 379 responses
Good - 44 responses
Neither Good Nor Poor - 3 responses
Dont/Know - 0 responses
Poor - 2 responses
Very Poor - 5 responses

We read all of your comments and share these with the team and appreciate you taking the time to send these back.

If you cannot complete the online form we also have paper questionnaires and a post-box on the desk in reception and there is a feedback form on our website too.

Thank You

🍻Dry January🍻

A month alcohol-free has a lot of benefits: research published in 2018, conducted by the Royal Free Hospital and published in the British Medical Journal, found that a month off:

💗Lowers blood pressure
🏥Reduces diabetes risk
💝Lowers cholesterol
🩸Reduces levels of cancer-related proteins in the blood.

If you are looking to start your "reset" this January, here are practical resources and steps to help you succeed:

Tools to Track and Cut Back
🥃Track Your Units: Use the Drinkaware Unit Calculator to understand exactly how much you are consuming and how it impacts your health.
🍷Download an App: The Try Dry app, managed by Alcohol Change UK, is a free tool designed to help you track your units, calories, and money saved during January and beyond.
🥃NHS Support: The NHS Better Health website offers a free "Drink Free Days" app and tailored tips for cutting down gradually

But every small step you take brings you closer to your goals, and even small changes can make a difference.

From January, under-6's will be be routinely offer MMRV instead of MMR - this adds chickenpox protection.

It will protect your child against measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox

Chickenpox is very common and can sometimes lead to serious complications, so vaccination helps reduce the risk of serious illness as children grow.

You do not need to do anything - we will be in touch to arrange an appointment when your child is due

Do you normally see your GP about the following conditions?

Did you know you can go to the local pharmacy for the conditions below?

How the Service Works:
💊No Appointment Needed: You can walk into most high-street pharmacies to request a consultation.
💊Professional Assessment: Consultations take place in a private room. The pharmacist may prescribe medication, suggest over-the-counter options, or refer you to a different service if the condition is more serious for example GP, A&E, or dentist.

Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals, completing a five-year medical training programme, and are the first point of contact for minor health concerns.
