📝Patient Feedback - February 2026📝

We send questionnaires via text message to patients after most appointments - where we ask how they found the Surgery overall.
In February we received 412 responses of which the responses were as follows:

Very Good - 362 responses
Good - 37 responses
Neither Good Nor Poor - 7 responses
Dont/Know - 1 responses
Poor - 3 responses
Very Poor - 2 responses

We read all of your comments and share these with the team and appreciate you taking the time to send these back.
If you cannot complete the online form we also have paper questionnaires and a postbox on the desk in reception and there is a feedback form on our website too.

During the month of February 101 patients booked GP and Nursing appointments but did not attend. These missed appointments included specialist clinics that have waiting lists as well as normal appointments.

Altogether these missed appointments added up to 29 hours and 45 minutes of wasted clinic time.

If you have booked an appointment but can no longer attend, please contact the Health Centre to let us know as soon as you are able so that other patients can book in.

👀Diabetic eye screening👀

Diabetes can lead to sigh loss - but regular eye screening helps catch problems early

If you have diabetes and you're aged 12 or over, you'll get a letter every 1 or 2 years asking you to have diabetic eye screening.
If you have gestational diabetes, which is often a temporary condition, you will not be invited for diabetic eye screening.

When you are ordering your repeat prescription please remember to only order the medication you need

Each year, about £20 million worth of medicines are wasted across the North East and North Cumbria, putting additional pressure on healthcare budgets

🌟Return any extras – when picking up your medicine at the pharmacy, only take what you need. If you return something before leaving, it can be used again.

If you are set up to use the NHS app did you know you can see scan, x-ray and blood results?

What can you do on the NHS app?
💊Prescriptions: View, request, and track repeat prescriptions and nominate a pharmacy for pickup.
👨‍⚕️Appointments: Book, view, and cancel appointments at your GP surgery, and manage some hospital/specialist appointments.
📖Health Records: Access your GP record, including test results, medications, and allergies.
📄Information & Preferences: View your NHS number, set organ donation decisions, and manage data sharing choices.
🔔Notifications: Receive messages from your GP practice.

The surgery are looking at improving healthcare provision for farmers, farm workers and farming families.

You might receive a text message from us asking if you are a farm worker to help us identify members of the farming community.

If you haven't had a text message, or cant respond and you are a farmer / farm worker, then you can call the surgery and let us know - this will then be coded in your medical record.
