YAS CFR, Stokesley & Hutton Rudby Community First Responders We are volunteers trained by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to respond to 999 calls in Stokesley and the surrounding area alongside the ambulance service

We are a team volunteers trained by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to respond to urgent 999 calls in Stokesley and the surrounding area. As authorised volunteers for the ambulance service, we work as part of a dedicated team whose aim is to reduce the number of Pre-Hospital deaths in Yorkshire. We are trained by YAS in basic life support skills, CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillators, and Oxygen Therapy. We work alongside the YAS crew and are not a replacement for the 999 service. We are always backed up by a YAS clinician. Our role is that of a first responder.

Aprils recruitment is OPEN

Community First Responders (CFRs) are volunteers who are trained to provide support to patients in the vital first few minutes of an emergency until our ambulance crew arrives.

Collectively, our CFR volunteers attend an average of 1,500 patients every month!

Day 1 of March's course, thanks to Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service for the use of their training venue.
Its amazing how moving out of the classroom, to a different room can change so much, yet this is valuable training ensuring CFRs are confident to respond with in their communities.
Ensuring they consolidated all they had learnt on Day1 of their 4 Day CFR course.
North is always hard to recruit due to grass, sheep and fields upon fields, these last few months we have had a steady flow of new volunteers. Sadly, this month has seen a lull.
Do you have 20 hours you could be on call ready to respond if needed?
Could you support your communities in their hours of need?
We will give you a 4Day, course (over weekends)
On Line eLearning package.
dedicated Team Leader to look after you.

Today is the best day of my job.

A group of individuals from ALL walks of life, who 2 weekends ago, walked in to a room with different levels of knowledge, have all just walked out as CFRs in support of Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

I Love my Job ❤️

Thanks to North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service for the use of their training room at Colburn Fire Station.
