Its Acupuncture Awareness Week and a great time to shout out about traditional acupuncture as a personalised, preventative, lifestyle medicine – one that connects mind and body, and encompasses a whole system of health. A great reminder too of the high professional standards members of the British Acupuncture Council must uphold in practicing traditional acupuncture.

Hayfever driving you mad?

Sneezing fits, itchy eyes, and that foggy, drained feeling… sound familiar? If you struggle with hayfever, you’re not alone.

Acupuncture is a natural, drug-free therapy that may help ease hayfever symptoms for some people.

Five Element Acupuncture aims to rebalance your body’s energy, which many clients find helpful during allergy season.

If you’re curious about trying a natural approach this hayfever season, feel free to message me for a friendly chat or to book a session.

The NHS is calling for 200,000 new blood donors — but current rules still prevent people who’ve seen qualified, professional acupuncturists from donating.

This precaution feels increasingly outdated, especially when expert advice back in 2017 supported a change.

Let’s make it easier for more people to help save lives.

As reported in BBC News today, the NHS has raised significant concern over an estimated 200,000 blood donor shortfall and has urgently called for more donors to come forward. The British Acupuncture Council has consistently lobbied for a change in blood donation regulations because they are unnecess...

Lovely to see some familiar TAA faces at the British Acupuncture Council conference yesterday. A great day of learning, connecting and reflecting

This weekend is the British Acupuncture Council & Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine Conference – and of course, we had to take a TAA family photo!

So proud of all our graduates, current students, and those representing The Acupuncture Academy – whether you’re here today, joining tomorrow, or cheering from afar. You’re all part of what makes our community so special.

👋🏻 Hi, I’m Sally and I’m a five element acupuncturist

Before I retrained in acupuncture I worked for many years in the waste and ♻️ recycling world so beside my Chinese medicine knowledge know a lot about bins and rubbish!! Comes in handy when disposing of those needles 😊

I live in Staffordshire with my family which includes my two rex bunnies and two p***y cats. 🐰 🐰 🐈 🐈‍⬛

I love the outdoors, hiking, gardening and also singing….so much so that I run a choir with my friend Emma for those that just want to sing for fun (The Tuneless Choir).

🔔 Acupuncture & Back Pain news 🔔

For anyone that doesn’t know, a Cochrane Review is a trusted summary of medical research, carefully put together by experts. It examines high-quality studies on a health topic to provide an objective and reliable overview of the available evidence.

✨ New Cochrane Review Confirms Acupuncture Helps with Chronic Low Back Pain!

A newly published Cochrane review of reviews has examined non-drug and non-surgical treatments for low back pain. The results? Acupuncture effectively reduces pain and improves function for those with chronic low back pain! 🎯

🔸 Acupuncture is already integrated into mainstream healthcare in several countries:
✅ Statutory regulated in Australia, New Zealand, and Portugal
✅ Covered by healthcare insurance in Germany and New Zealand
✅ Recommended in clinical guidelines when seeking out a PSA registered practitioner (BAcC)

However the study highlights that many clinical trials underestimate the real benefits of acupuncture because they don’t reflect the personalised treatments given by traditional acupuncturists.

⚡ Traditional acupuncture:
✔️ Is a safe intervention when provided by trained professionals
✔️ Can be a long-term solution for pain management

🔍 Looking for a trusted acupuncturist? The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) ensures the highest standards of training, safety, and professional conduct. Find a qualified practitioner near you today!

Little outing today to visit a beautiful Tudor house in Cheshire. I came across these, the four humours of the Tudor times.

The Tudors believed there were four humours which helped them to define the world they live in, who they were and how they should stay healthy.

It reminded me of the emotions we consider when diagnosing someones “Causative Factor” in Five Element acupuncture. It really resonated.

Which one are you??? 😊
