Stonehaven Funeral Directors

Stonehaven Funeral Directors Stonehaven Funeral Directors - Proprietor - Mr William D Bruce - has been established for over 19 years. Business is privately and independently owned.

Mr William D Bruce (Billy) has been in the funeral industry since 1990 a year after the passing of his dad in 1989. During this period of time has seen many changes within the industry, one of the main concerns is the costs and the enormous pressure it is putting on families that have lost a loved one. Many elderly people put funds aside for their funeral or choose to pre-pay, but there are many people who are unable to do this and find themselves in difficulties financially, in some cases unable to pay. Being a small privately run business, it is our aim to help as many families as we can, by giving advice on any benefits you may be entitled to, to discuss the possibility of a deposit being paid followed by a payment plan if needed to pay the outstanding balance. All will be subject to a legal agreement signed by the person responsible for the funeral arrangements and costs. Some families are finding themselves losing a loved one at a very young age, the devastation of loss combined with their personal grief and the emotions that they are going through is more than enough for the to cope with. Allow Stonehaven Funeral Directors in the personal care of Mr William D Bruce (Billy) and Elaine to look after you, give you the advice and guidance both in relation to the Funeral Arrangements and very importantly the Financial Costs Involved. Stonehaven Funeral Directors pride themselves in providing a service of the highest level, allowing you the family to organise the funeral with us and give your loved one the funeral befitting their memory, conducted with the utmost dignity and respect at all times. During the last 19 years, we have provided a service and looked after a considerable number of families that have lost a member of their family and will continue for many years to come. Should anyone need help, advice or guidance you can visit our Funeral Home or give us a call, all enquiries are private and confidential. The Funeral Home will be manned more often now that Covid restrictions are easing, but please call 01569-763222 should you need our assistance. Billy,
Thank you again for EVERYTHING, from the moment we called you to the very end. Yes, this is your ‘job’, livelihood etc but you as a person, over & above your business has been absolutely what we needed at such a difficult time for us. It felt like you were one of us, you fired so well into our family and we will never forget that.

On Loss of our ‘Hero’

What can we say…. our world was rocked in mid Dec on the sudden loss of our precious Dad and Mum’s cherished husband.
Understandably stunned the day following his passing we ventured to Stonehaven to do the rounds of local funeral directors unsure where to start or how we were going to cope let alone pull a funeral together over the festive period. On visiting the first two we still felt deflated and completely at a loss.
Then we met Billy…..to say we felt an instant sense of relief would be an understatement, from the very first words he spoke we were reassured with his sincere empathy and the compassion he expressed towards us. We got the feeling he had us and we knew straight away we’d be supported through the process no one wants to arrive.

Nothing was a problem, Billy’s contact throughout our planning was perfectly consistent but not overwhelming, he checked in on us not just around the arrangements but he also made us feel that our emotional well-being was just as important to him.
When it came to the day of Dads funeral the weather was horrendous, in blizzard conditions days leading up to and on the day itself, Billy and his colleague’s reassuring demeanour gave us much needed peace of mind.

We hand on heart cannot ’Thank’ Billy and his team or recommend them highly enough.
You all helped make a very difficult time for us an awful lot easier.

‘Thank You’ sincerely 🙏🏼
Patrice, Pauline, Dawn and Faye

As I reflect on the past 12 months, I want to take a moment to reach out to you with my sincere thanks and continued remembrance.
It has been a profound privilege to walk alongside your family during one of life's most difficult moments. The trust you placed in me during a time of loss is something i do not take lightly, and I remain deeply grateful that you allowed me to serve and support you in honoring your loved one.
I know that grief does not follow a time table. For many, memories and emotions continue to surface long after the services have concluded. Please Know that you and your loved one remain in my thoughts, and that remembrance extends far beyond the day of farewell.
I wish to thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. I wish you all continued strength, peace, and comfort and i hope that cherished memories bring moments of warmth as time moves forward.
With my heartfelt gratitude and sympathy.

Peace and happiness over the festive period and 2026.
