The Lansdown Clinic was established in 1991 in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Originally a Chiropractic Clinic, the Clinic expanded in response to a growing demand for a wider range of medical and complementary health care. Outgrowing its original location, in 2002 The Lansdown Clinic relocated to its current premises, a magnificent Georgian townhouse in the very centre of Stroud. Here at The Lansdown Clinic we offer:

- Chiropractic (suitable for everyone including pregnant ladies, children, and the elderly).
- Sports Injury Care.
- Spinal Rehabilitation and Strengthening.
- Podiatry & Chiropody
- Massage (including sports, remedial, pregnancy, baby/infant, and reflexology).
- Pilates & Pregnancy Pilates. The Clinic has also recently expanded and now offers Tai Chi classes and Hypnotherapy.

Most people book a massage because something feels tight, but tight muscles are only part of the story. Tension isn’t always just about posture or overuse, it’s often due to stress, pressure or emotional distress.

When we feel under pressure in any of these ways the nervous system shifts into high alert which can create physical tension, shallow breaths and a sense of feeling disconnected from the body.

Over time, a state of bracing becomes normal and the body forgets how to fully soften. Massage works in two powerful ways:

• It works directly with muscle and fascia
• It signals to your nervous system that it’s safe to relax

When the nervous system settles, the soft tissue follows.

That’s why a massage session doesn’t only leave you feeling looser but also calmer, clearer and lighter.
