My business is about in-depth personal development through the lens of resilience building, with a specialism in supporting people working in high-stress and challenging environments. It draws on my unique journey as a senior leader working in the police, a University Lecturer, and as a senior executive grade diplomat operating in conflict zones. And also of my personal lived-experience recovering from abuse, trauma and burnout. In my spare time, I volunteer as a Special Advisory to a trauma charity. Having been on a number of leadership programs, I was struck by how few specifically set the context of the unique challenges faced in the sector I worked in. My approach centres around excellence, authenticity, integrity, evidence, down-to-earthness, calm, and good humour. It is not: directive (it guides and navigates); or ā€œwoo wooā€ (it is evidence and science based). It delivers coaching, mentoring and high quality learning in a number of ways. I’ve struggled even recognising my achievements, let alone rewarding myself šŸ˜‚ Make sure when you write your goals, you align each one with a reward for reaching it. And build space in for reviewing your achievements šŸƒā€ā™‚ļørather than rushing to the next goal.

šŸ’ I’m still working on this myself. But the image shows a bunch of flowers picked yesterday from my garden as a reward to myself for gaining a new client. I’m smiling every time I look at them 😌
