Wednesday at Oriel began with residents signing our handmade THANK YOU cards for our friend Reverend Claire, who will soon be moving on to another parish.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a wonderful ‘Flower Power’ craft session. Molly, Pat, Jean and Una were delighted with their colourful creations, and it was lovely to see our new resident Rex, along with Josie, joining in with what they felt comfortable doing. A creative and meaningful morning all round!

In the afternoon it was time for Holy Communion with Reverend John from St. Mary's Church. Those residents who wanted to, joined in the Ash Wednesday service. A huge thank you to Reverend John and friends for taking the time to visit us.

Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️ Residents in Hagley were each treated to a Valentine’s chocolate before Saturday morning’s painting session began. As always, Gordon was eager to start, whilst Pauline, Pam, June and Joan, payed close attention to detail. Both Barbara and Ginny enjoyed special visits from there, before picking up their paint brushes and joining in the festivities.

Before our slate decorating craft session in the afternoon, residents were presented with even more chocolates! Muriel, Una, Margaret, Jean, and Pat were all happy with their creations, as was Molly... though she did say she would have liked to have turned it into a necklace, but somehow we don't think that would be possible 🤣 Staff member Norah joined forces with Marion, and had a wonderful time working together.

Crafts after lunch in Ibstock were full of colour, creativity and plenty of laughter ✂️🎀

Pat was first up, carefully measuring her ribbon for a big bow, with lots of encouragement and giggles along the way. Una enjoyed having her turn, while Muriel was delighted with the beautiful bow Pat made and kindly gifted to her.

There were some lovely joint efforts too, including a special piece created together for Ginny, and another that Hilda truly appreciated for her frame. Jean proudly finished off her own creation, rounding off a really cheerful afternoon.

Moments like these remind us how creativity brings everyone together 💛

Saturday morning Jigsaw Club in Hagley 🧩

Michael was seen working hard, and Gordon and June were definitely up for the challenge! Barbara also joined in, happily enjoying a cup of tea while doing her dog jigsaw.

Not everybody wanted to take part. Sue preferred watching through the window and joining in with the banter, while Betty enjoyed having a little chat - and Sue and Pam loved the music!

Earlier this week, our residents enjoyed a gentle exercise session in the lounge 💪

Staying active together is a great way to support mobility, boost wellbeing, and have a few smiles along the way. A lovely, positive start to the day for everyone involved.
