Happiness is.... getting the planting beds ready for spring ☺️ I definitely embrace the wildness (mess) over winter, I think it's better for the soil and the bugs and birds to have leaves, weeds and last year's plants that are decomposing. I really like that things aren't bare over winter, but there is something quite satisfying in tidying and mulching in early spring, like wiping the slate clean to start the year. I put in some onion sets and moved some herbs around that weren't thriving!
I tend not to follow the rules too closely in my veggie patch, I like practicing using my intuition. It's a good place to do this, as it's pretty low risk. Sometimes I'm bob on with my ideas, other times things fail, but taking the rough with the smooth, it's a good lesson!
