A huge THANK YOU THURSDAY to Rachel and her cousin, Beth, who both took on the Worcester Marathon in memory of their beloved nan, Mary, who was cared for here at The Mary Stevens Hospice. Deeply grateful for the care and compassion their whole family received, they were determined to give something back and challenge themselves to make a difference for other families facing similar situations.

We were delighted to welcome Rachel and Beth back to the hospice when they visited to donate an incredible £1,575 raised from their marathon challenge. They are already determined to do even more to support us in the future and we couldn’t be more proud of them!

Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of visiting the Craft & Chat group at St Peter and The English Martyrs church in Lower Gornal. They kindly invited us to share more about the work we do here at the hospice and generously donated a beautiful selection of handmade items to support our fundraising efforts.

These wonderful creations will be available at our hospice Christmas Fayre on Saturday 29th November, and every penny raised will go directly towards supporting patient care.

We’re so grateful for their continued support – it truly makes a difference!

In April, Julia, president of The Stourbridge Rotary Club, completed a charity walk from The Bonded Warehouse along the canals to Stourport, raising an incredible £2,500. Thanks to an additional £500 donation from the Rotary Club, a total of £3,000 will go directly to supporting the care that we give here at the hospice.

We were delighted to welcome Julia back to the hospice and receive her fabulous donation that will make a real difference in the lives of people in our community who rely on our care.

Meet Stitch and friends at the Firewalk!

This Saturday, as well as the brave soles treading the trail of fire, we'll also have stalls, live music, and free family entertainment including the chance to meet Disney favourite Stitch.

Our next Children Bereavement Session is this Saturday 1st November at Stourbridge Library, beginning at 10:30am.

These sessions are designed to help children through their bereavement journey, and to help them to understand and express their emotions in a safe, supportive environment.

A parent or carer must attend with their child.

Paul Brindley has reached Everest base camp! 🏔

Already one week into his three-week trek alongside fellow West Bromwich Mountaineering Club member Dave Nock, Paul is making excellent progress on this amazing, physically demanding journey through the Everest High Passes in Nepal.

We are happy to share details of our next Bereavement Hub in Stourbridge.

Our hubs are a safe, warm place to come along to if you are bereaved and would like somewhere to share your thoughts and feelings with others.

The Hubs take place each month, covering six sessions, with each session exploring a different aspect of grief. You don't have to attend every session and you don't have to share your story if you don't want to; you can just listen or simply be present.

Everyone is welcome; you do not have to have any connection with the hospice and no booking is required. Refreshments are provided.

Our Christmas Treecycle is back for 2026! 🎄♻

Recycle your real tree while supporting The Mary Stevens Hospice this Christmas. In return for a donation towards our essential care, our fab team of volunteers will be travelling across the borough in January to round up and recycle your Christmas trees!
