Upcoming Programme - Nurturing Courage Programme

We are please to announce our upcoming Nurturing Courage Programme.

This programme aims to support parents & families to increase their knowledge, understanding skills to support Children & Young People who are experiencing high levels of anxiety.

Content Covered
What is Anxiety and where does it come from
How anxiety can present in Children & Young People
Exploring strategies of how to respond when Children & Young People are experiencing Anxiety
Local Support Services & Self-Care tips

Dates: 3rd March, 10th March, 24th March, 31st March
Time: 10am - 12 noon
Location: Training Room, Koram Centre

This programme is being delivered in partnership with the Koram Centre and GP Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) in Strabane

Current Vacancy - Clinical Coordinator (Part-time)

The Koram Centre are currently recruiting for the post of part-time clinical coordinator.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our clinical team and play a leading role in the delivery of high-quality and effective counselling services.

Hours: 24 hours per week

Salary: £35,295 per annum (pro rata)

Duration: Permanent (subject to funding beyond 31st October 2030)

Koram Centre - Upcoming Programmes

We have a number of upcoming programmes to support participants to connect with others to improve their emotional health & wellbeing.

Please note that we have remaining spaces on the following programmes:

Programme: Make Some Noise

Description: This music based programme will work with Children & Young People using drums and handheld instruments, to support social and emotional development. Participants will be supported to come together, have fun and learn techniques to manage stress and to calm the mind and body. No prior musical experience needed

Please note that parental consent forms are required to be completed.

Ages: 11-14 years old
Dates: 16th February - 9th March
Time: 6.30pm-8.00pm

Programme: Filling My Wellness Toolbox Programme

Description: This programme will explore topics of self-care and self-compassion, mindfulness, setting healthy boundaries and good communication, ideas from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, grief theories and what to expect in grief, and moving towards self-love and self-acceptance .Each week will consist of teaching, written exercises, discussion, poetry, and a cuppa together.

Dates: 11th February - 18th March
Time: 10.00am - 11.30am

Programme: Creative Mindfulness (Parent & Toddler)

Description: This programme will support parents and toddlers with big feelings while having lots of fun, with games, stories and creative activities

During the programme children and parents will work together to make props to support them in their mindfulness practices, helping them to build resilience in children and families

Ages: Aged 2 years +
Dates: 18 February - 25 March
Time: 1.30pm - 3.00pm

Upcoming Programme - Filling My Wellness Toolbox Programme

We are please to announce our upcoming Filling My Wellness Toolbox Programme

This programme will support participants to increase knowledge and understanding to improve emotional health and well being.

This will include exploring topics of self-care and self-compassion, mindfulness, setting healthy boundaries and good communication, ideas from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, grief theories and what to expect in grief, and moving towards self-love and self-acceptance.

Each week will consist of teaching, written exercises, discussion, poetry, and a cuppa together.

This programme will be facilitated by Fiona Magill who is an accredited counsellor/psychotherapist.

Programme Details:
Dates: Wednesday 11th February - Wednesday 18th March (6 weeks)
Time: 10:00am - 11:30am
Venue: Training Room, Koram Centre, 12 Railway Street, Strabane
