Our STAY YOUNG ladies group were at The Painted Pig again today enjoying the health and Wellbeing through Art project.

A great time was had as always, I’m sure you can tell from the pictures. Thanks as always to Sharon for her warm hospitality and kindness. See you again next week !

Thanks to Eilish from the WHSCT who visited our centre this morning for the FALLS PREVENTION EVENT. Thanks also to those who came along and took part in a very informative and worthwhile session.
These events are an opportunity for learning , networking and positive community engagement. It’s great to see local people getting involved and taking advantage of this free support delivered right on our doorstep.

Keep an eye out for our next event , come along and get involved. You won’t regret it !

COFFEE MORNING- November 19th from 10am - 12 midday at Strabane and Distrct Caring Services.

Come join us for a coffee morning and support UNICEFS Gaza Appeal for Chilren in Crisis.

This initiative is timed to coincide with WORLD CHILDRENS DAY on the 20th of November , UNICEFs global day for action for Children and to mark the councils status as a UNICEF Child Friendly City and Community.

A few pics from the first of 4 planned Community Safety sessions this week focusing on FIRE SAFETY.
A very informative session as always and a chance for attendees to ask questions of the trained experts.
As a result of today’s session around 80% of those present have registered for a FREE HOME SAFETY check. This is a huge positive for NIFRS and for the local people who came along and got involved.

Time matters when someone is having a stroke. This year’s theme reminds us that Every Minute Counts. Recognising the signs of a stroke and acting quickly can save lives and reduce long-term disability.

🌟An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Day Centre Assistant. This permanent contract will involve a minimum of 20 hours per week. (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays)

📍Based in Strabane

Job Duties
👉Provide care and personal support to adults with physical and sensory disabilities, acquired brain injury and/or challenging behaviour.
👉Support service users who require PEG feeding and undertake intimate personal care tasks.
👉Support and follow plans for service users.
👉Provide social interaction and stimulation for service users by implementing programmes and activities.
👉Promote dignity and respect when providing support and care.
👉Support service users in their personal development.
👉Contribute to the undertaking of risk assessments.
👉Ensure accurate and timely recording of information and report writing and undertake administrative duties as required

Essential Criteria:
✅6 months experience in formal care setting
✅Satisfactory Access NI vetting procedure and satisfactory references
✅Full driving licence

Successful applicants must be willing to carry out Enhanced Access NI check. Having a criminal conviction will not necessarily prohibit you from working with Strabane & District Caring Services. This will depend on the information provided and obtained from disclosure certificate, as well as the position applied for.
