𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 ✨

This weekend, Ballybofey celebrates the Frances Browne Literary Festival, honouring one of Donegal’s most remarkable writers. Born in Stranorlar in 1816, Frances Browne lost her sight to smallpox as a child, yet her imagination and determination opened worlds of poetry and prose that continue to inspire today.

In recognition of her legacy, and in celebration of creativity, vision, and community, Gormley Opticians Ballybofey is offering 10% off all designer frames from October 9th–11th.

It’s our small way of joining the festival in honouring Frances Browne’s extraordinary insight and the literary light she brought to Donegal.

As we wrap up our 30th anniversary celebrations, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us on the day and to all who helped behind the scenes to make it so special. From the laughter and conversations to the smiles we captured in these photos, it truly was a day to remember. 🧡👓

A very special word of thanks goes to Mrs. Love, our very first customer back in 1995. Jean treated us all to a few jokes and was presented with flowers on the day. It meant so much to celebrate this milestone with her. 🌸

We are so proud to have been part of the Strabane community for 30 years, and even more grateful for the friendships we’ve built along the way. Here’s to continuing this journey together for many years to come. 🥂✨
