Leading with purpose when it matters most ⭐
Today attended our first 'Link and Learn' at Leathersellers Hall in London, joining charity partners, funders and sector colleagues for a day of open, thoughtful discussion.
The agenda reflected the realities many charities are navigating - diversifying income, managing change, and developing clear, values‑led strategies in a challenging climate. The conversations were honest and practical, grounded in experience rather than theory, with a consistent focus on keeping beneficiaries at the centre of all decision‑making.
The day closed with a keynote from Debra Allcock Tyler, Chief Executive of the who reminded us why charities exist at all. Referencing George Bernard Shaw, she reflected on the responsibility charities hold to respond to unmet need with purpose and intent:
“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognised by yourself as a mighty one.”
— George Bernard Shaw
It was a powerful way to end the day - a reminder that charity work is not about comfort or caution, but about being clear, committed and ferocious in our mission to support those who need us.
We are so grateful to Leathersellers’ Company for creating space for learning, reflection and connection, and for their incredibly generous investment of £100,000 (over 4 years) which is strengthening our ability to support children and young people with Adverse Childhood Experiences.
