This is a page where customers can see reviews of local business before they buy and where local business can advertise for work while helping charities.

5 Star Local has been set up to recommend the best retailers and trades people in your area, while at the same time raising funds and awareness for well deserving local charities. Each time you contact any of our recommended companies via this site, they agree to donate a percentage of your transaction to the pot which will be distributed to the chosen charities at the end of each year. Full details of this will be published for all to see and hopefully this will encourage more members to join each year. This year we have chose 3 charities that are close to our own hearts which are -
Yorkhill Sick Children's Hospital, Cancer Research & Scottish SPCA. However, we will be asking our members if they wish to review these each year or keep the same ones on as we are aware that everyone has their own feelings and experiences. You can leave reviews on this site to tell others of your experience with the listed shops/trades people and the top firms will receive an award at the end of each year based upon their reviews, performance and service above self. We are currently looking for a showroom manager to work in our Strathaven branch.
The applicant should be self motivated, have good customer service experience and be able to work Excell and preferably cad or be willing to learn cad.
Daily duties will include:
Assisting customers when they come in and book appointments, answer the phone and be able to handle customer enquiries and concerns professionally, place supplier orders, follow up leads.

Thanks to everyone who helped me raise some money for the sick kids hospital in Glasgow (previously known as yorkhill). I always wanted to do something for them and I'm glad I did, I really enjoyed my challenge and we've raised a good few pounds that can be used to help a brave child smile.
I will close the just giving page down tomorrow morning.

I am going to walk 200 miles in 7 days to raise money for the royal hospital for sick children (formally known as yorkhill), not because I am or have benefitted but because I am so grateful that my kids are healthy and I would love to help those brave families who have a struggle to deal with.
