🫶🫶🫶With gratitude for every one of you 👏👏👏

As we reach the final day of the year, it feels right to pause and recognise what a remarkable Baobab family we are. Baobab isn’t just a workplace or a service — it’s a family built on compassion, trust, resilience, and the shared belief that care changes lives.

To our incredible carers: This year, you’ve shown dedication, patience, humour, and heart in every visit, every call, every moment of support. You’ve brought comfort on hard days, joy on ordinary days, and dignity every single day. Your work matters more than words can say, and we are deeply proud of you.

Tonight, as we step toward a brand‑new year, may we carry forward the strength, kindness, and connection that make Baobab what it is. May we leave behind the stresses that weighed us down, and make space for fresh energy, new ideas, and moments of joy.

Here’s to a year ahead filled with laughter, teamwork, and the continued privilege of making a difference together.

Wishing each of you a peaceful end to this year and a bright, hopeful beginning to the next. Happy New Year to all our carers, clients, and families — may 2026 be full of good things🎉🎉🎉

A Night Before Christmas — Baobab Social Care

It was Christmas Eve evening — calm, quiet, and bright,
As our carers completed their last rounds of the night.
Homes glowed with warmth, soft lights shining low,
Because comfort was given before the first fall of snow.

Across Street, Glastonbury, Wells, and beyond,
Langport and Somerton — wherever we’re called on,
With kindness and patience, steadfast and true,
You served every client with dignity too.

While others wrapped gifts or shared festive cheer,
You were out in the cold, showing care far and near.
A warm cup of tea, a smile soft and kind,
A gentle conversation that eased someone’s mind.

You lifted tired spirits and lightened the load,
In quiet, extraordinary moments untold.
Your work may go unseen, but it shines all the same,
The heart of our service, the soul of our name.

So tonight, as starlight glimmers above,
Know you’ve filled this season with compassion and love.
As Christmas Day dawns with hope shining bright,
We thank you, dear team, for your strength and your light.

From all of us at Baobab, with gratitude sincere,
May your Christmas be peaceful, your hearts full of cheer.
May warmth find you always, wherever you go,
And rest wrap you gently, like fresh fallen snow.

🌟Special Day for us Team Baobab 💫✨⭐️☀️

Congratulations to our amazing team on the well-deserved nominations at the South West Awards! We are proud to see our hard work being recognized, especially as we’ve now become finalists in two categories. Baobab’s nomination for the End of Life Care Award highlights our dedication to compassionate and quality care. Yolanda’s nomination for the Rising Star Award reflects her exceptional potential and the bright future she has within our organization. Craig’s achievements, along with our organizational progress, underscore how far we’ve come together. Let’s celebrate these achievements, stay motivated, and continue striving for excellence. Well done to the whole Baobab team involved—this recognition is a testament to our collective effort and commitment .

Baobab Social Care is looking for Care Assistants / Support Workers to support their home care and community services in Bedfordshire , Somerset , Wiltshire , Bristol , Northamptonshire and West Sussex .

We're looking for caring individuals who:
💖 Are caring, confident and have experience in working with adults;
🚘 Holds a driving license and/or has access to own car,
💻 have experience completing admin work (e.g. care planning, risk assessments, report writing etc) desirable but not essential,
🗓 Have a flexible availability Monday-Sunday basis (e.g. alternative weekends, before and after school and during school holidays) etc.

Pay: Compatative Rates + mileage
Hours: 30-40hrs per week or (preferably full time)
Sponsorship is available to right candidates

There are pros and cons to every job so let's kick things off with

❕THE NOT SO FUN ❕
✳️As we work in individuals homes, you can go from home to home. However, you'll be able to make meaningful professional relationships with the individuals you support.
✳️Some days can feel like a rollercoaster ride with twists and turns and loop the loops. You'll need to show a smile on your face and have bundles of energy.
✳️Sometimes there may be last minute changes. This is one of the sides of care we have to face head on and understand sometimes things change.
✳️Sometimes you'll be working on your own and feel isolated. Though as you'll read below, we'll be there for support you on those not so great days.
✳️This is not an office job. There's the care aspects and the admin aspects - we all chip in and provide care and support. One week you may be working more in the admin side, another week you may be providing more care. It can fluctuate which keeps the job exciting.

🤩AND THE GREAT..🤩
✅You'll have the opportunity to support adults in their independence, life skills and more. You'll also be supporting a team to develop and grow. You'll know when you sign out of work you'll have made a difference that day, whether to individual or team member.
✅You'll be supported every step of the way. We have an open door policy. Need to ring the manager before 9am or after 9pm, so long as we're not on shift ourselves, you'll be able to reach one of us.
✅No 'Sunday evening dread' - whilst there can be rollercoaster days, you'll never be bored. Sometimes the days are challenging, though this adds fun to the day. You'll learn and be supported to navigate the not so good and turn them into good days.
✅You'll build connections with individuals. We typically have a team of 4 around each individual. This helps when covering for holidays and sickness, but also enables the individual and the team to build a meaningful connection.
✅When you're working in the community, you'll get to enjoy supporting the individual on outings for shopping, meals out, appointments, days out at the seaside (summertime) and more. You'll also get the opportunity to support on these fun outings and get away from the paperwork.

❕ YOU'LL SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE IF... ❕
✨ Never give up attitude. You need to be able to pick yourself up when the days are not so good.
✨ You're a team player. There is no I in team unless you write a capital A in a certain way. You'll not only work with the individual, but also their family and our caring team members. You'll be all about personal growth and actively be an advocate and role model to the rest of the team.
✨ You're all about person centred care. You care and value others experiences. You have an appreciation that everyone is different and may need more or less help in different aspects of their life.
✨ You want to be part of a caring team driven to be outstanding and flexible. We want to be impact-driven and are all about achieving desired outcomes for individuals we support. You'll be recognised and valued for your care and support.
✨ You're a problem solver through and through. You'll need to have problem-solving in your DNA. Working with individuals can be challenging and require a certain gusto of finding solutions to de-escalate situations. Working with a team can at times be difficult too, so a solution based attitude is a MUST!

So what are you waiting for? Apply today and make a difference to the lives of individuals and their families .
