CHRISTMAS TREE CHIPPING AND RECYLING FOR DONATIONS TO THE NHS… 8th January 2022

We hope all our customers have a lovely Christmas, and a happy & healthy 2022. Thank you once again to you all for your support within this year.

On 8th January 2022 from 11am to 3pm we will be at Nethergate Brewery, Rodbridge Corner, Long Melford, CO10 9HJ to chip up your undressed Christmas trees which will be environmentally recycled. Anyone who would like to help us help the NHS please bring your Christmas tree along and donate. Last year we made a great donation and would like to do the same again. If you can’t get your tree there on the day we will do our best to pick up in the local area – Long Melford, Sudbury, Lavenham and the surrounding villages for a donation. Grounds Person or Trainee Tree Surgeon Required:
Based in Suffolk we run a very motivated established tree surgery company for over 30 years. We carry out works for local authorities, developers, commercial and private customers. A large proportion of our works are in the local area at larger properties on some wonderful trees!

We are currently seeking a Grounds Person - experience is preferred together with NPTC qualifications (Maintenance and crosscutting, felling of smaller trees formerly 30 & 31) - but for the correct candidate it would not be essential.
However, if you have no NPTC Units then training would be offered for a candidate with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn quickly.

Driving Licence is preferred.

All PPE & uniform would be provided. Must be able to work well in a team.

Holidays offered are 28 days per year inclusive of bank holidays.

The position also offers training and development opportunities for career progression in exchange for commitment and enjoying seeing a job well done. The right candidate can follow a career though our company from trainee to senior positions.

Tree Surgeon – Climber
Job description
We are looking for a fully qualified, experienced and competent Tree Climber who can carry out both aerial and ground based operations to our high standard and at good speed. You would be required to climb daily and would be responsible for the organisation of the working day including daily maintenance, the completion of relevant paperwork and to liaise with customers.
You would need to be able to use various vehicles and the associated equipment ie Cherry Picker, Woodchippers, and Stump Grinders.
Preferred Skills
The following skills and qualifications will be preferred,
• Be highly motivated and able to work to an extremely high standard of both safety and quality.
• Minimum full UK driving licence plus towing of trailers above 750kg. Pre 97 licence and advantage.
• Minimum Arboricultural qualifications such as NPTC 201, 202,203 (formally known as CS30 & CS31), NPTC 206, 306 & 308 (formally known as CS38 & CS39) or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years’ climbing experience.
• Proven experience in arboriculture.
• You will have need to have good communication skills, a highly flexible approach and be good a team player who takes pride in their work.
Other desirable qualifications include CS40/41, PA1, First Aid at Work. Manual handling qualification. IPAF or similar MEWP ticket.

Thank you to all who have supported us in trying to raise some money for our local NHS. We have collected, chipped and recycled quite a few Christmas trees and have raised just over £200 now. I have to say a massive thank you to those that have come and simply donated, no tree to recycle but wanted to help, you know who you are, you are truly lovely people!
I'm going to double that £200 so there will be at least £400.
We will do another collection day next week as I realise there will still be a few trees out there.

Thank you to all of those who have donated to our Disposal of Christmas Trees so far we have raised £179.00 - all funds will be given to the Local NHS Trusts - amazing big THANK YOU

Wishing all of our customers a very Happy & Healthy New Year. Thank You, to you all for your support during 2020, a difficult year for everyone.

We would like to do something in January to help support our wonderful NHS and their staff. On a few set days in January we will be offering a Christmas Tree disposal service where your tree will be chipped up and the woodchip environmentally recycled.

Anyone who would like to take advantage of this will be asked to make a donation. ALL proceeds from this will be donated to our local NHS Trusts. Let's see if between us we can make a worthwhile donation.

Trees will need to be undressed and this will only be offered in our local area, Lavenham, Sudbury, Long Melford and local villages. Please contact us on here or via email or telephone call from the 4th January.
We will be in Lavenham on the market square on Thursday 7th from 10am. Please bring you tree to be recycled. If you can’t get it there please call the office 01787 319200 on Monday and we will do our best to pick it up. Remember all donations for this service will be going to the NHS. Please help us to help support them!
