Let me introduce you to this awesome yummy mummy Jade Forster
I had put on nearly 5 stone while being pregnant, and it was just continuing at a rapid rate after I gave birth, constantly ordering takeaways and making unhealthy choices constantly. I needed to draw the line and I had previously joined Slimming World and lost over 3 stone before, so I knew it worked and I knew I could do it again!
I love the variety of food that I can have while still losing weight! I can also have my favorite treats and not feel guilty about it. My favourite meal at the moment would be overnight oats - 40g of oats, fat free Greek style yogurt, 1 flavoured fromage frais (1syn) and frozen berries on top! All the meals I make are from scratch and Phoebe loves trying them all, her favorite is definitely SW rainbow Bolognese.
Throughout my journey, I have had a few personal challenges that I've had to face, and before SW, I would turn to food and eat my emotions with sweet and fatty foods. Although it is a tough cycle to break and I've struggled with binge eating from a very young age, I have tried my best to swap the comfort foods that aren't SW friendly for free or speed foods. Although some weeks are tougher than others and I do slip from time to time, but I'm only human and I try to not beat myself up about it and just jump straight back onto plan. Currently, I am slowly coming out of a rough patch, but feeling better as I've chosen better foods to binge on these past few weeks. It's all about mindset and focusing on what I want to do for myself. I've always said, I don't do much for myself as a mother, but this is something that can't just be put to the side anymore and if I don't do it now, when will I.
I have more energy to play with Phoebe and I am able to walk further than I could before - working towards my gold body magic has really pushed me to get back out and enjoy life ! I also can wear a lot of clothes that I never thought I'd be able to wear, although I've only lost 2 dress sizes, I feel so much more confident in tighter dresses and cropped tops than I did before.
Being overweight brought me many health problems, being told I'm high risk of developing type 2 diabetes at such a young age, bone problems and other things. Now that I'm over five stone down, my risk has massively decreased and although I've still got ongoing back and joint issues, they've got nothing to do with my weight I feel like me again .. loving life
