Sunderland Home Care Associates

Sunderland Home Care Associates Sunderland Home Care Associates Ltd (SHCA) was founded in 1994. We are an Employee-owned company, keeping the Service User at the heart of all we do.

Sunderland Home Care Associates is an employee owned social enterprise company. Staff members play a vital role in the decision-making process because they own a share in the company. This means profits are spent on providing a better service, to reward staff for their commitment and to provide high quality training for staff. Sunderland Home Care Associates strongly believe that well trained staff become more confident and are able to offer a better quality service. All staff are encouraged to participate in training sessions to advance their own personal development. You are not required to have previous experience as you may still have the appropriate values and skill required. We offer full training to all our Home Support Staff which includes a Diploma Level 2, 3 and 4 where appropriate. Sunderland Home Care Associates are committed to a highly trained work force to meet the requirements of our Service User's. Before employment commences, you will be required to attend a comprehensive induction training programme and complete an enhanced DBS check.

MAG'S STORY

Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Over 55,000 women and 390 men a year are diagnosed with breast cancer. Yet around a third of these cases are preventable.

Breast Cancer UK is working to prevent breast cancer through education, scientific research, collaboration and policy change.

Breast Cancer UK provides practical advice and tips on how we can reduce our risk. They campaign for changes to national health policies to support prevention, and fund research to help improve our understanding of how to stop the disease.

My family has been affected by breast Cancer for the last 40 years, I myself am a survivor of breast cancer ( 20 years and still going strong) and now my 33 year old niece has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and is now starting the battle against this disease. I want to show my support to her by shaving my head and hopefully raising some money to give back to breast Cancer UK to help others starting their journey

STOP SEPSIS SAVE LIVES

World Sepsis Day takes place on the 13th of September each year. This important awareness day aims to raise global awareness about sepsis, a life-threatening condition that arises when the body’s response to infection causes tissue damage, organ failure, or death. Sepsis can affect anyone, but it is particularly dangerous for the very young, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Early recognition and prompt treatment are critical to improving outcomes for those affected by sepsis. It's the 2nd leading cause of death after cardiovascular disease, it affects millions globally each year.
