✨We are pleased to share that a new maternity triage system will go live on Monday the 8th of December at Sunderland Royal Hospital Antenatal Day Unit 🏥

👩🏼‍⚕️ The Birmingham Symptom-Specific Obstertric Triage system (BSOTS) is an evidence based triage system that will help to ensure women and birthing people are seen quickly and safely when attending with any urgent pregnancy concerns🤰🏽

BSOTS will allow:-
💙Faster and effective assessments
💙Safer and consistent care
💙Clear guidance for ongoing care
💙Reduce delays
💙Better patient experience

⏰ When attending you will receive an initial assessment within 15 minutes where possible

❗️Those who require urgent care will be prioritised, this may mean some patients are seen before others who may have arrived earlier❗️

🌈 During this transition period we ask for patience when attending our Antenatal Day Unit over the next few weeks

👩🏽‍⚕️ If you have any questions or concerns please speak with your community midwife or a midwife while in hospital
