Fundraising

The support of the community is an important part of St Benedict’s Hospice, both in fundraising and volunteering. You can support your local Hospice in lots of exciting ways:

* You could volunteer to help us at our events, we’re always looking for willing hands to man stalls, marshal at events, help with event registration etc…
* You could take part in one of our many exciting events, from Ladies Lunches to Scary Walks! There’s something for everyone – see our events calendar for inspiration
* Why not organise your own event for us? From Charity nights to sponsored walks – we can help and support you in all manner of activities! We look forward to hearing from you!

A huge thank you to TSB Bank and Neighbourly for championing charities like ours and recognising the work happening every day to support our communities. 👏

This support helps us to continue to provide free palliative care, advice, and support to our patients who are dealing with a life limiting illness. 💙💛

☺️Thank you Fred☺️

Our charity relies on the kindness of our community to help us continue to generate income to support our hospice.

One of the way's we raise funds is through contactless donations. Fred heard we needed a frame for our card machine and he jumped straight in to help us. Less than 5 days from taking the measurements he produced these two perfect boxes to hold the machines. 💙💛

Once branded we will be able to site these at the hospice reception as a static donation point and take to events around the community.

A huge thank you goes to Amanda McEvoy, Joanne McGreggor and the team at Silksworth Sports Complex following this fantastic donation of £1252.64 for the hospice. 👏👏

The money was raised through a reindeer run, boxing day dip and various other fundraising activities on the run up to Christmas.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a success and to everyone who donated to the events in memory of Michael, Amanda's Husband 💙💛

Regular Giving makes a huge difference to St Benedict’s Hospice

Our specialist care teams, comprised of medical professionals, clinical staff, and volunteers have been providing the highest standard of care to our patients and their loved ones for over 40 years and we can only continue to do this with your help.

As a charity, St Benedict’s relies on the generosity of the Wearside community to help fund the delivery of free palliative care, advice, and support to patients dealing with a life limiting illness.

More than 125 individuals and businesses currently give on a regular monthly basis to St Benedict’s. This contributes an average of £27000 (including Gift Aid from UK taxpayers) every year.

Regular donations made year on year help our charity to save time and money and have a sustained long-term impact on our patients, their families and loved ones.

By signing up to a regular donation of as little as £5 per month, you will be making an ongoing difference to your local hospice.
Sign up now to make that difference today.

A huge thank you goes to the team at the Endoscopy Unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital who nominated St Benedict's as their chosen charity for their festive fundraising. 👏👏

Many of the staff have personal experiences and connections to the care the hospice provides, Joanne who organised the event which included a Christmas Raffle, a Guess the Reindeer Name and scratch card, said she was proud and thankful for the efforts of her colleagues for supporting and donating so generously.

They generated an incredible £445.00 for St Benedict's 💙💛
