A huge thank you goes to the team at Mott Macdonald Bentley, Houghton -Le-Spring following their volunteering day this week at the hospice.

They spent the morning sanding down the benches at the front of the hospice and giving them a much-needed coat of varnish. They also sanded down the garden shed in our IPU garden ready for the longer summer days. 💙💛

The team have also chosen St Benedict's for their chosen charity for the 1st quarter of 2026 and are currently fundraising for the hospice. 😊

With the help of their customers, they have raised over £200 through the sale of Easter Chicks. 🐥🐥

We had a fantastic time this weekend at our Easter Fair here at the hospice. 🐰

Thank you to everyone who came along to support us on the day.

We have raised an incredible £2360.51 for the hospice, we could not do this without your help. 💙💛

With the help of our special guest, The Easter Bunny, we announced the winner of our bonnet competition and drew our hamper winners. All winners have now been contacted.

A total of 49 egg's were collected for the hospice to be used in our fundraising activities. 💙💛

We were eggstatic to receive so many! 🐰 🐣

We are so excited!

Look who has stopped off at the hospice today 💙💛

The Easter Bunny has taken time out of his very busy schedule to let us know that he is visiting our Easter fair tomorrow🥰

He will be making an appearance after lunch to meet everyone and to announce the winners of our prize draws and Easter Bonnet competition.

We can't wait to see you all, there are crafts, Easter Egg tombola, and activities to keep everyone entertained. 😍

⭐️Gentle reminder, unless you have a blue badge, please leave the hospice car park free for visitors to the ward and our hard working staff. Parking is available at Hopewood just a short walk from the hospice⭐️

Some of our patients in Day Services have created these beautiful cards this week using Silk painting techniques 😍

Silk painting originated in China over 2,000 years ago, with the earliest examples dating back to the 475–221 BCE.
Initially used by the elite for robes and scrolls, it evolved from monochrome ink drawings to vibrant, detailed artworks by the Song Dynasty.

The colours used in these painting are truly stunning and it was a relaxing experience for our patients. 💙💛

It's hard to choose a favourite from all these designs!

We have a limited number of places available for the hike across Hadrian's Wall on Saturday 16th May 2026.

The 20K walk will take you along some of the most stunning scenery in Northumberland 🤩

Led by professional guides, you will have full support along the route and you can even have your dog join in!

Registration is £35 and we ask you to commit to raise £100 for St Benedict's.

Our Easter Fair is only 1 week away!

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the hospice from 11 am on Saturday 28th March. 😀

There will be a selection of stalls including Crafts, Books, Toys, Games, Tombola's and a Prize draw.

The bistro will be open for light refreshments along with our gift shop. 🍵🍰

Don't forget we will also be holding our Easter Bonnet Competition so get creative and bring along your best dressed hats!

⭐Can we kindly ask that the hospice car park is only used for those who hold blue badges so our staff and our patients' visitors can have access at all times.⭐

Alternative parking is available at Hopewood Park just a short walk from the hospice grounds. Thank you 💙💛
