This week we have had the absolute pleasure of having our Proprietor David Gardener’s Daughter Mia taking part in her work experience here at Peter Dodd Family Funeral Directors.
Given the sensitive nature of our business, Mia has been an exceptional member of the team, working alongside us, showing the highest levels of respect and dignity for those in our care and to the families she has been in contact with.
We, the full team at Peter Dodd Family Funeral Directors would like to congratulate Mia on her professionalism throughout her work here during her work experience.
She has demonstrated a positive attitude, strong commitment and an impressive willingness to learn and understand our roles.
Mia has really been a valuable contribution to our team this week, she has been a pleasure to work with, and we all wish her the best of luck in her future endeavours wherever this may take her.

A service of celebration of her life will take place in Gospel Hall, Pallion Road on the 10th March 2026 at 10am, followed by burial in Bishopwearmouth Cemetery.

Ian passed away peacefully in hospital on 19th February, aged 89 years, following a short illness.

Beloved husband of the late Joan, dearly loved Dad to Colin, Katharine & Gillian, Father in Law to Anne, Travis, and the late Ian.
A treasured Grandad to Frances, Christopher, David, Harry, Matthew & Charlie.
